Keyboard layout changes after pressing ALT+SHIFT

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:PC
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug Pressing Alt & Shift keys simultaneously changes the keyboard layout, while the default combo for my PC to switch the layout is CTRL + SHIFT.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name?
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? Since the first day I started playing.
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Heroes vs. Villains
What is your time zone?
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Press Alt+Shift and your keyboard layout will change (if you have more than one loaded in your Windows settings).
What happens when the bug occurs? The keyboard layout changes and I need to switch it back by myself if I want to use the default one.
What do you expect to see? A fix for this bug.
Please select your region Europe
AMD or Nvidia Model Number

I have 2 keyboard layouts set in Windows: the default one corresponds to my physical keyboard's one and the ENG-US one (which I find really useful while e.g. I am coding or when I need some characters which are hardly accessible from my language's keyboard).

While playing it happens really often to me to press the SHIFT and ALT keys simultaneously. Unfortunately my keyboard layout changes every time I do that, causing me the trouble to switch it back every time I need to use punctuation signs in the in-game chat.

I want to clarify that the default combo in Windows to change the layout is CTRL + SHIFT (not ALT+SHIFT), so what happens in the game does not make any sense to me.

This happens in every game mode (I selected HvV above because there is no option to select all of them).

  • @9DarthKron6 Hey, I think the way around this is to change the key combo.

You can go to Control Panel > Language > Advanced Settings > Change language bar hot keys

Here you can change or disable the key combo.

Thanks for the post, I hope this helps.

  • Hi @EA_David,

By following your instructions I found out that the ALT+SHIFT combo was used by my system to switch the input language (I do not even know what that is honestly). I disabled that combo, therefore I think the problem should be fixed. I'll mark the topic as solved as soon as I can prove that.

Thanks a lot for your help.
