Linking Epic and Steam with EA broke friend invites
Linking my Epic Games account and Steam account, which both own Star Wars Battlefront 2, has caused friend invites in Battlefront 2 to not work. The friend invites to play say something along the lines of "install the game to join your friend".
The game was working fine right before I had linked my Epic account. Only Steam was linked originally but I needed to link Epic to play a different game and since that link occurred the issue has started happening.
Clearing the EA launcher cache did not fix the issue.
The game still launches and can be played but I can't join my friends and my friends can't join me.
ISSUE RESOLVED: I found a solution to this problem.
The problem: Epic Games account owns Battlefront 2. Steam account owns Battlefront 2. After linking both accounts to EA the friend invites are asking to install the game and won't work.
The solution: Unlinked my Epic Games account and cleared the EA app cache (Click the triple line in the top left of the app window; go to help; go to app recovery; click clear cache) and verified the game data through Steam in that order. I'm not certain which step fixed it but all steps I did at once and it resolved the problem.
Good blasting to anyone out there; hopefully this helps.
