loot boxes suggestion
I understand that not everyone will like this thread, so you have been warned. Back when Battlefront II was launched, the application of loot boxes and star cards caused unnecessary anger among the game's online community.
What suprised me more, however, was the way they were implmented at all, as DICE's previous game franchise, Battlefield, also has a loot box system. If you were a normal player, you earned low- and high-tier loot via completing certain challenges in both the campaign and multiplayer, whilst if you were on Premium (a per-game subscription), you earn additional high-tier boxes once a week automatically, access to new weapons and maps, and early access to upcoming map packs. Whilst this system has had its ups and downs, it continued with BF1 and still proves a better solution than what currently exists in Star Wars Battlefront II...
What I propose, therefore, is DICE creates battlelog.battlefront.com, restructuring the rewards system at the same time to match Battlefield. This subsite could allow users to open loot boxes earned in gameplay, purchase them directly off the EA store, view what challenges players haven't completed, view all gear they currently own and customise their characters outside the game. If this requires the studio to momentarily suspend reward of loot boxes, this may also be a benefit, as it would create a grace period for disgruntled players during the migration.
