It is kind of annoying that they couldn't replicate it. I mean they pretty much already had the script written for them. I guess it was just so people that hadn't read Aftermath would have a better time understanding. If you ask me though if they would have kept it how it was it would have just made people want to start reading books and comics and that wouldn't have been a bad thing.
Its not near as bad as the discrepancies between the clone wars and the ahsoka novel though.
