This will be a discussion thread for The Mandalorian. Just for thoughts and predictions on the show, and stuff. If you want to talk about how cute Baby Yoda is, go ahead, if you want to talk about how pissed Temura Morrison looked when Boba Fett saw the Mandalorian with his armor, fine.
@UNL1M1T3D_P0W3RAnd yes, it is sad that sequel trilogy never delivered anything like this. For me it cast a shadow over the entire trilogy. Thankfully, the post ROTJ content is in the hands of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
I was thinking yesterday...I've been getting the same feelings with Mandalorian as I had way back in the early 90's. We hadn't had any new SW since ROTJ. No one knew if we'd ever get anything more. Then the Thrawn trilogy showed up and blew everyone's minds. It kicked off the now "Legends" universe which was outstanding overall.
We've been looking for something hopeful for SW since Disney made a "tactical retreat" after the ST and Solo didn't measure up. In comes Mandalorian and blows our minds, setting up a whole new era of SW storytelling. We get Clone Wars restarted with Season 7 and continuing into Bad Batch...future is looking bright for SW!!
They should scrap all the sequels content and continue the Starwars timeline from here

From what I understand of it,
Matt Rugetti ... Luke's stunt double. (For the action scenes)
Max Lloyd-Jones ... Lukes actor/double AKA the actor who wore the computer generated mask that put Mark's face over his own.
Mark Hamill ... Luke's original actor contributes the legacy of the character with his former acting contributions. Mark's previous acting footage / images can be cast onto another person's face with the DeepFake technique (- or similar).
Supposedly voice editing was done to make the vocals sound more like Luke as well??? It seems as though Max provided the voice, but I'm not 100% certain.

Your line of thinking seems the same as Disney displayed, early on when it was scraping a bunch of history from Star Wars.
Why would you want to do the exact same thing they did during that time.
Don't you know. An ear for an ear makes the world deaf... I specifically changed this idiom in reference of how Twi'Lek's original creative design was altered for the Mandalorian.
@DvveeboAt first I was thinking the same as you in regards to the ST, but I'm not so sure anymore. The now "Legends" material was likely to get thrust aside one way or the other even if Lucas did the ST. He never considered books hard canon. Anyone that wanted to do post ROTJ content would have a real problem working it in with the Legends books.
So what happens if they keep building post ROTJ content from here and get an entire universe going that fans are major attached to? What if at the same time they do nothing much in the ST era to reinforce any fandom there?
Do they shift everything to line up with the ST, even if it means trashing current fan favorites, storylines, and other things? I'm not so sure the answer is yes anymore. @ToddyRocket1 may have just thrown down the best early prediction in SW history. lol
