Lost mouse/keyboard control when starting the game is usually caused by Gaming Overlays.
OP stated he fixed it blaming Origin in-game. Indeed, Origin in-game is a gaming overlay, and I too disabled it, but for another reason: it usually made Origin crash, and if Origin crashes, the game starts behaving weirdly and then it'll eventually crash as well.
Another famous gaming overlay that is usually the culprit of such loss in control is Discord's Gaming Overlay. So if any of you use Discord, disable its gaming overlay and check if you gain control back when trying to play. You may disabled Origin in-game too, as that's another gaming overlay if disabling the discord one doesn't fix your issue, or if you don't use it already.
If none of this works, If you know about any other gaming overlay that might be used in your PC, disable it and test again. I believe some graphic cards also have their own gaming overlays.

Disabling Origin in-game worked for me.
