Latency issues have been with us ... on and off ... for both SW battlefront 1 and 2. I vaguely remember in 2016/17 everyone using the UO trace program to look at the hops and pings. There appeared to be intermittent issues with EA servers that are there purely as a "defence" for the main servers. Prolexic.com servers ring a bell ?????

Long and short - as always I can be wrong but as an issue its unlikely to go away esp. as these games are far from EA priority as regards support. ☹️
