Forum Discussion
EA indeed seems to block child accounts (anybody under a certain age as set on the EA account and/or Xbox/Playstation account) from online functions.
I don't think it's meant to block Star Wars though but the online interaction he/she can have with the world (cyberbullying, peer pressue, cursing, etc.) and the function to purchase stuff in the game with the parents creditcard as example (last thing you want). I don't think underage accounts can go online with the Sims either for example (could be wrong).
Information I could find regarding child accounts:

- Anonymous8 years agoThat would be why i have the parental settings set so no purchases can be made without my password. Again my choice not Era's
As for cyberbullying harassment etc. We do private parties with friends only yet another way Microsoft allows me the parent to parent my kid- Anonymous8 years agoAs for aging up his account there is no way possible for an Xbox live account. Only way is when they age out. If you try to change the age it creates an age mismatch error in the Xbox systems

Just spoke to two different individuals on EA help. However these are just people in India with no actual ability to help out on this issue. It’s a joke the game companies should not be making these decisions it’s my decision as a parent as to whether I allow it or not.
i wish Microsoft would take control over this. I can make my sons account over 18 so he can play NBA2K 20 online but EA has locked it out for Battlefront. At the end of the day I said I can create a fake account and let them play on that one. Their response was yes you can do it that way. So at the end of the day they don’t care and have no idea.
I tried asking them to fix it because my son entered the wrong information and they expected me to send proof (birth certificate) to them electronically to verify DOB. There is no chance in hell I would send sensitive info like that to some EA email account. I was repulsed that they would actually ask for sensitive information like that.
I now will question whether or not to by any EA products.

That's quite cool =D (how Xbox arranges those things, not the age change ofc)
