I have dreamed of a game that’s free roam on coruscant since I played battlefront 2005 as a kid. Idc if I’m holding a blaster or wielding a lightsaber the entire game, I just want to do whatever I want and go wherever I desire. And now after watching the mandalorian, I’m craving it even more.
Supposedly, Star Wars 1313 was going to be more open world-ish, as was Project Ragtag((*Open world updated version//code-named Orca??)) Both Star Wars themed. Both canceled.
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Isn't all that appealing considering your character is somewhat set, but it's probably the closest thing to sandbox, beyond the Sims4 Batuu DLC that you can get, right now.

I’m so excited for all the new projects that Disney announced but the gaming world for Star Wars seems to be stagnant right now. I didn’t even bother getting Star Wars squadrons.
Personally dismissing the Squadrons game doesn't make it any less of a contribution to the pool of Star wars Themed games.
For me, I did actually play Squadrons! Even though I prefer boots on the ground small ops. (Swbf15 Cargo being my favorite.)
Although... I played Squadrons in VR... A huge mistake as it gave me VR sickness...
The Trandoshan character in the campaign seemed really cool. (I was disappointed I couldn't play as an alien right off the bat - because I prefer to cherish my characters' journey over the course of their/my playtime. As opposed to the feeling of unlocking something new. ...I have a lot of progression to make in this game still. )

But to return to your original line of thinking;
Yeah. There does seem to be a considerable decrease in upcoming titles concerning Star Wars games Vs. up-coming titles for Star Wars TV.
For reference, the fresh (2020 Star wars themed) gaming pool consists of,

The sporadic difference in publishers tied to different SW game titles (restricted to specific devices) is somewhat worrisome for the SW gaming future.
It tells me Disney lacks an area of focus when it comes to providing SW themed games.
Disney+ is the prime focus point of SW shows (I'm assuming), which is comforting in contrast to the games situation.
