Not able to launch the game getting "You dont have access"

I just purchased Battlefront 2 from steam and upon launching the game it prompts me to sign in to EA which I select the steam account to sign in since that is the account with the game. After signing in it gives me an error "you dont have access, this title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again."

After restarting the same thing happens. From the prompt if I select the option to get the game it gives a 404 error from the EA store and the game also does not show up in my collections in EA.

I have confirmed the account in steam is the same account that is connected to EA . I reached out to chat and the first person told me to reinstall steam and EA so I did but there was still no change. the second person wanted the game code but last I checked steam does not make that available anymore.

Was this an issue with the steam services not able to provide a game code that is communicating with EA ( no idea if thats a thing)
