Nvidia Display driver crashes constantly.

Nvidia Display driver crashes constantly.

I get a black screen with the windows sound like you disconnect a device every time I try and play the game. It recovers most times with no other error message.

I am Running GTX 1080 on latest driver 388.13 on the latest windows 10 with the fall creators update.

Things I have tried:

  • Completely uninstalling display driver and re-installing it
  • Using the DDU uninstaller in safemode and re-installing driver
  • Disabling all other programs and overlays (origin, discord)
  • Disabling other monitors and using only the primary screen.
  • Disabling G-Sync
  • Changing from Full screen to full screen borderless
  • Disabling the windows 10 full screen performance booster.

Did anyone ever get a fix to work for this, I bought the game during the start of this year, and this problem with display drivers have made it an unplesent experience to play.

It's not an Nvidia issue...this stuff goes on for AMD folks as well. It's a game issue. Everyone keeps trying to figure out what the deal is and how we can circumvent the issue, but the fact remains...EA/DICE need to fix their game.

My problem is I can sit and play the game. I have no lag, running with a 70-90 FPS. And suddenly the game freeze and says that the display driver for nvidia has stopped working and has been recovered. Never ahd this problem with any games before, and it's only Battlefront 2 I meet this problem. And sometimes after the crash, the game start crashing every time I try to start it again.

Im using a GTX 780-TI. But for what #22 is saying, and for what I have read around the internet, it happens to both AMD and other nvdia users, even those with a lot better GBU's

  • OP here, I am still having the issues if I try and run the game without Vsync enabled. However, it seems to run just fine if I disable gsync in the Nvidia control panel and force vsync in the game menu.

  • I've had this EXACT same issue.  I was able to fix it by disabling GSync for windowed mode and only having GSync enabled for Full Screen mode
