Persistent GPU induced freezing (PC)

GTX 1080 Ti, already underclocked, under full water block, 1.062v, display driver 397.64 (clean installed) induced full system lock ups where the game freezes and the audio bugs and the only thing to...

Thanks for the help everyone, just an update:

I found out what the issue was, and I got a hint of it rather early on. I had an inkling that it was CPU vcore early on and I raised that 10mv in BIOS before booting and erroneously, determined that it wasn't the issue as I got another lock-up so I returned it to where it was Prime95 and OCCT stable -5mv (yes, this game sets the new standard in terms of CPU stability testing) Somewhere in the process I was also reducing my GPU overclocks, and a day had gone by and the next time I attempt to play I noticed that I got a crash even faster, this time within 5-10 minutes. Well, today I increased the voltage with Gigabyte's EasyTune app, from 1.35 to 1.39v and I just played for an entire hour without a crash. I'm left to conclude that the crashing wasn't GPU related, even though it appeared to be (usually, if it's CPU related it's a BSOD, not the game freezing with loud buzzing noise being emitted from the speakers / headphones).

If anyone else is having this issue check your CPU vcore.
