Played characters and classes will not level up!

    That's just not how it works. You have a separate global level, and the character levels are character card levels, actually. Unlock star cards for them, and they will level up. Your global rank is only needed for unlocking higher tier cards.

I did not know that either. I assumed you played the class to get XP because your XP is shown at the end of a match. The class progress bar should say "card level". Does levelng up actually give you increased health or damage? Is there an official guide to learn about more things like this?
