PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

I am not doing this just to make senseless noise, and I'm guessing I'm not the first person to say this:

Copy the Battlefield code.  Apply the Star Wars skin.  Deploy the best game ever made.

PLEASE!

    Hey @smadabob

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write on our forum! 🙂 It shows that you want Battlefront to be a successful game.

As great as it would be if DICE could do such a thing, it doesn't change the fact that game development is a lot more than copying and pasting the engine code 😳 Technically both games are using Frostbite code, so it's already the same engine. But turning Battlefield into a Star Wars thing would not be an easy task.

Because it's a really interesting topic, I'm curious if you have any ideas how a Battlefront game would look like using Battlefield mechanics? I'm talking strictly about gameplay perspective here 🙂

I'm excited this was even looked at!  Thank you!

I understand the code complexities, that was just my way of saying it in a simple/dumb way.  What I'm really trying to say is that I think Battlefield is a great game.  What makes it great includes:

    - Game Types, especially Conquest...large maps with separate bases as objectives.  This spreads out the fighting a bit and forces more strategy.

    - DEDICATED SERVERS!  I think games are much more successful when communities of like-minded people can come together and play.  Dedicated servers gives us that.

    - More about dedicated servers...that also gives us the option of including or not including certain aspects of the game.  Like Heroes.

    - Squads:  let us create our own squads

    - Classes and Class progression:  It's hard to put my finger on this one, but the Battlefield class progressions are more clear and purposeful.  Each class has it's own set of guns to progress, gadgets to progress, etc.  The classes themselves have more purpose as well, like medics, support, etc.

So when I say wrap Battlefield with a Battlefront skin, what I'm saying is use the amazing graphics and Star Wars concepts of Battlefront, but give it all of the same functionality and playability as Battlefield.  Even now there are still playing Battlefield 4 (the best in the series, in my opinion), and I wouldn't be surprised that it has been and will be played a lot more the Battlefront ever will be.

    Thank you again for responding.
