Plz help me

Guys I am planning to build a new gaming pc but it won't have a disc reader. But I had purchased the game on disc version. Because I have downloaded it on my laptop (so it is in my games library) will I be able to play it on the gaming pc? Plz help.

  • When you installed a game for the first time (from the disc version), you had to put the cd-key or serial included with your disc.

    At that moment of inserting the cd-key, the game was added to your Origin library. After that, You don't need the disk anymore. The game is stored in your Origin library & you can download it from Origin any time.

    If you still want to install from the disc version, you have two options:

    • attach external USB disc reader to the new pc;
    • make ISO file on the old computer (which has disc reader), copy the ISO file to the new computer, and install the game from the ISO file (emulated* disc drive);
    • (Be aware, that after installing from the disk version there will still be massive patching/downloading!)

    *Note: Windows 10 already has virtual ISO disk drive supported, but if you want you can install eg. Virtual CloneDrive or DAEMON Tools... see the following link:

  • @Mikimuster3No I don't want to install from the disc again. So I download and install the origin client, log in with the same account I have downloaded star wars battlefront 2, go in my games library and simply download and install the game from there, right?

    Yep.

    Come back to this Topic if problems will be "aRising" & "May The Force be with You"!

  • @Mikimuster3Also my friend is thinking of building a gaming pc after he graduates in around 4 years. Do you think that the servers will be still up then so he can play multiplayer? European servers (Greece) btw.

  • Don't think so.  Since you own a physical copy of the game, the license for your game is tied to the disk.  Accessing your game library from another computer isn't going to do anything.

    @DrJonesMD the license get added to the account. So that means you can log in to any PC in the world with that account by downloading and play your games with out using the disk.
