Poor permormance in SP mode

I still can't believe SP mode runs so bad for me when arcade mode runs perfect. I don't mean general performance, I've tweaked the settings to get a good balance of quality/fps in both modes. But SP just stutters, hangs, sound makes a horrid noise then stops altogether,  cutscenes can play one minute but go ape the next, Yesterday on the naboo level as Leia the game froze but I could still pan the camera around, so what the hell happened there?

Sp also still takes an age to load and unload (although the unloading time is not SP exclusive).

when I first got the game and experienced all this I read countless threads and applied countless "fixes"...all seemingly to no avail.

I only got the game for SP as I have no interest in the "brainless run around like headless chicken killing everything that moves" mp style gameplay. I need a "reason" to do things, I "need" a story. So narked off it runs like crap when the previous Battlefront Dice game runs flawlessly.

  • Try playing in Windowed mode on the lowest resolution settings. Setting your PC power to maximum performance and minimizing any other programs in the background while you're playing can help boost performance.

  • Hey @robbo6wales, thanks for the breakdown on the issue! 🙂

I'm assuming now, that you are playing on PC. If you are can you upload a dxdiag so we can see what drivers and hardware you are using. 🙂

  • Hi Atic, apologies for the late reply, I have generated a dxdiag file do I just attach it here in this thread?

Hi Blueberry, I'm attaching dxdiag as requested. Any thoughts on the disparate performance between arcade mode and single player campaign?

I'm afraid your CPU is below the minimum requirements and you're just meeting the minimum requirements for 8GB RAM, so performance will not be ideal. We cannot guarantee the game can run without any technical issues on that CPU, I would consider upgrading the CPU which should help allow you to take full advantage of your GPU too.

I was wondering about memory as most of the time it's pretty good in Single player. It's worst transitioning from cut scenes and loading, sound often drops out and the cut scene performance is awful, subsequently the next playable section becomes just as bad, but a restart usually solves that somewhat. It's the inconsistency that narks me the most as I can play the game fine for a while (and really enjoy it as I'm a SW nut (still play the old XWing sims)). Oh well I'd better save for a new PC!
