Progression on eliminations and killstreaks
Now as the game grows older, the collection and career does not keep up with my progression. To get a certain gun I need 200 kills with a certain trooper, but I'm sure I have eliminated well over 200 ...

You are looking at Eliminations not kills. These challenges are based on the amount of Kills you get each match, meaning assists do not count as progression. You can see your kills at the bottom of that match scoreboard.
