Re: Battlefront 2 Progress Resets

@XxDragonBorn02  As far as I'm aware all levels, credits and achievements are on EA servers and cannot be deleted unless EA has a server/backup issue. Your loadouts, appearances  and  offline mode progress etc. are held in 2 places - in your saves on the xbox or in the microsoft cloud file which is what syncs when you start the game. If you delete the save file on the Xbox you will not lose your settings or offline progress as it will resync with the cloud file but if the cloud file is also deleted then you will lose all your local loading and your offline modes will and will have to manually re-do them. What I don't understand why the user agreement & Tutorial restarts. Do your ranking level and trooper levels reset?.

  • At first the rankings reset to level 1 on everything but after about 10 seconds it refers to it's normal level e.g. 70 for assault, 200 for heavy and so on. I've cleared the persistent storage and deleted the saves and resynced them but the same issue occurs. I just think my game is just permanently broken.

@NuegardThat eliminates EA servers as the problem. Where is the game stored - is it a digital copy stored on internal or external disk or is it a purchased DVD and where did you buy it?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner but I didn't know you had posted the answer to my first post. Use @ggibb65 at the start of your reply and I will get an email advising that you have posted a reply.

No worries, originally the game was disc based back in 2017 and the issue occurred when using a disc, but I sold the hard copy a year ago but now it's on game pass I've downloaded it digitally on my console but the same issue occurs, I've talked to some people and they said they're only two options really,

Option 1 - dealing with the issue everytime I launch the game

Option 2 - resynching my ea account and gamertag but that will result in all my progress being lost

@NuegardWhere you on Xbox one when you bought the disk version and then upgraded to Xb one X ? If so, is that when the issue started?
The other option was when you downloaded the game pass version did you download while still having original version/save files still on your console. Sounds like what corrupted the original game was inherited by the digital version.

As I said in my original post, your scoring, milestones & ranking should not be lost with the digital version due to them being on EA servers ( different if you changed your Gamer tag).

If I was experiencing the same problem, I would delete the game & all save files everywhere including the allocated area for cache (shows when you open the game management on the Xbox) and reinstall the game pass version then manually restore all my trooper star cards etc. & accept that I would have to restart campaign mode but that is me!

I have been playing this game from the start, overcome all the bugs, update and Xbox/network issues with it but I have never had the problem with you described. I am at loss to explain why the user agreement.& tutorials restart.

JUST HAD ANOTHER THOUGHT- when the game starts, go to options/gameplay & scroll down to tutorials - are they set to OFF?

I was on the Xbox one playing the disc version at launch 2017, I noticed the issue around 2019 still being on disc on the xbox one. Stoped playing and then got the Xbox series X and saw the game on game pass, I downloaded it digitally as I sold the hard copy and the same issue still occurred despite being on a different gen console and being digital rather then physical.

Yeah getting rid of the tutorial option just reverts back when I restart the game. No progress is lost, its just my skins, emotes, star cards, loud outs all reset and personal settings like sensitivity and all those.

I know that it's gonna be reset when the user agreement shows up when loading the game, I don't know why it shows but I feel like there's not real way around this

And trust me when I say I've done everything I can, last resort is just resynching the account but that means all my progress is lost but then I won't have the issue anymore

@NuegardI am at loss to explain why this happened & by the lack of replies so are other people. When you go to connection in you EA profile what is showing as linked. I am assuming that that Xbox live shows up once only and same with your gamer tag, If there are more than one then that may be your problem.
Another may be disc space - is there enough room for the game cache etc. or alternatively delete the game off your internal drive and reinstall on an external drive if you have one or vice versa.

I know these are stretches or you may have already done this. Other than that I am out of ideas other than a factory reset of your Xbox (there a 2 resets - one without losing Data & the other a complete reset).

I have seen the same problem on Reddit but no one replied to that post. I'll keep my ears/eyes open. If a see anything that may help, I'll let you know

  • @ggibb65 yeah I'm thankful I ain't the only one who's experienced it but it's just one of those things where no one had a clue what to do, it's just so odd, on ea my xbox live account is linked to my ea account so that should be all fine. I think this is just one of those rare things that can't be fixed but I'm happy to resync  my account and start again, maybe play a different class or something fully but I appreciate the help you've given. If you do hear something and tell me I'll try and spread it around incase there's a few others who have this issue. But thanks again for help, massively appreciated!
