Here is the issue I had and how I fixed it:
I claimed BF1 on EGS and noticed that clicking it did nothing. If I clicked the "Owned" button in the store it did nothing. Literally nothing. I tried a bunch of mentioned workarounds which didn't work.
What worked for me was this:
1. Uninstall Epic Store
2. Delete the c:\Users\<my_user>\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\ people have talked about
3. There was some other folder under local that had Epic store data in it but I can't remembe the name (maybe EpicGames)
4. Close Origin
5. Reinstall the Epic Store and sign in
At this point I was STILL getting the issue, but then I ran Origin and kept clicking buttons in the Epic Store and my library and still nothing. Then I closed Origin AGAIN and finally the Battlefront 2 game in my Epic Store library lit up and I could click "Launch". This causes another Origin launcher to appear to prompt me for my account to link to EGS.
And now I'm working. I have 2 copies of the game in Origin now, but that's not a huge deal.
- @GrampyPalpie If i uninstall Epic Store, will it delete my other games' data? For example GTA5?
I tryed everything and still gettin a cipher error (0x0006) I believe it will. ☹️ I had Outward installed on my PC and I no longer see it in the location it was installed.
Your cipher error sounds a little different than the behavior I experienced so I'm not certain whether the reinstall would solve it.
