Thanks for keeping us updated. I will try reinstalling Origin like you proposed. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
Makes me wonder if having my pagefile split between c and d is causing me crashes to blackscreen then desktop :S
currently in queue with chat, nice queue times though - 5-10minutes
Grats on solution 🙂 I just posted a link to it in this thread too
@c2a2f2b7f1ca3466 Having a new issue now lol, Tried to join Multiplayer a few times, Finds a game, Shows me the World were going to but fails to load it and either hangs or CTD. Restarted everything and when I launch the game I get the message in a box saying "You are Offline, connect for more features" or similar. Then it tells me it cant retrieve my daily crate, Check my Connection and try again Error code 2347. Now I was online earlier as I already have recieved a daily crate + Pre order crates. Internet is fine, IM online in Origin. Havent been able to find anyone else with this offline error. ☹️
this image +1 more new - back at support :P that's not counting crash dumps removed from reinstalls, and fresh os install...
I dont have as many as you XD I gave up waaaay earlier lol
No we aren't D measuring, it's CrashLog measuring :P
I make jokes to not be as frustrated 🙂
*EDIT - support update, my vid card on gaming notebook doesn't cut it :S and i don't have the $$ to build a new rig right now, cause laptop nvid is integrated into motherboard --- so I had to refund, since I can't play it :S maybe back in a couple months or something.. GL

@O-Thunderchild-O, one more question please: Did you just installed Origin on your C:/ drive to make BF2 work? Or was it necessary to also reinstall BF2 to C:/? As the download took more than 24hrs I really hope reinstalling Origin will do the job.

Update. Still not working. I'll try and be as comprehensive as possible.
Steps taken so far.
- Updated to latest version of windows 10 (windows Update). I understand there is no manual way to update DirectX for windows 10 other than with windows update. Please correct me if Im wrong.
- Uninstalled all files relating to Battlefront II (2017) (will refer to this as 'BF2' from here on out). This was originally installed on a windows 10 software raid 0 drive (my L: drive).
- Uninstalled all other local game files relating to any and all origin games
- Deleted and removed any instance of any ea / origin files and folders including the BF2 folder in my documents, appdata, program files, and program files (x86) located on my primary (C🙂 drive.
- Complete uninstall of origin and reboot.
- On reboot, check for any new windows update (there were none).
- Download and install clean version of origin from EA, now direct to the default directory C: drive (my primary drive, a 500GB SSD)
- Started download of BF2 (again). Paused after file structure is built on the C drive.
- Copied across local previously downloaded and saved 'installation' folders within the Data\win32 and Patch\Win32 sub folders previously downloaded. This forms 98% of the total approx. 56 GB data download.
- Let the download resume - after 3-4mins the Origin downloaded recognised the files and jumped to 98% complete - finished downloading the remainder few hundred MB of data.
- Reboot PC then run repair on game files (double checking) - no additional files were downloaded.
-On launch of game it still only starts the arcade mode on Star Killer base. No full game is launched. When in the arcade / starkiller base game window, the 'launch full game' option is greyed out showing '0% installed'
At this stage now need some serious feedback from EA technical support. I don't particularly want to be going down the lines of a refund as this game looks awesome but dont have the time to test every possible iteration and nuance of setting. Every other game I've ever installed on this machine has worked first time, no problems.
Next step for me is a complete uninstall and removal of all EA / Origin / BF2 files (again) and completely re-download the whole 56gb install overnight. Will post another update when that is complete.
Primary System Specs:
OS: Windows 10 version 1709
CPU: Intel i7 6700K
GPU: Nvidia/Asus GTX 1070 Roc Strix
MB: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
RAM: 16GB DDR4
C Drive Disk: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Update: In live chat Que now......

Although you just destroyed my hope to beeing able to play BF tonight, thank you @Scholesy92 for your detailed description.
Please keep us informed if you learn anything new from the lice chat.
Thank's a lot.
@null9elf Just Origin is on my C drive (SSD) Battlefront 2 is on my D Drive (HDD)
*EDIT* In live chat queue now also. Will update

Thank's a lot guys. I really appreciatey your updates.

@null9elf Nothing new or any problems found from the live chat after providing dxdiag report and MSN info report. Being referred up the chain to a 'specialist.' Maximum response time is 3 days. Starting the complete installation process and complete re-download now.
If anyone else has any solutions, or any other ways that do not fix this problem, keep the feedback coming. (As Thomas Edison said' I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work). Lets just hope we don't all have to test 10,000 iterations before we find a solution!
OK So Live chat was a bust, Told me to Update and then repair the game, I updated it and it downloaded an update, but hung at 99% and stopped all activity. So I cancelled that update and ran the repair, Now its Downloading ANOTHER 16gb of files. It did this same thing earlier today. Starting to think im going to have to scrap the entire thing and delete both the game and Origin and start again. Grrrrrrr Australian internet sucks * and to have to Download ANOTHER 55gb.... sigh
**EDIT** That is Indeed what the EA chat guy suggested too, HE gave me a link to install REVO Uninstaller and to completely get rid of all traces of Origin and Battlefront II and start again.
☹️ Will Advise it it fixes anything

Good luck with that.
together with BF2 I installed Origin the very first time on my brand new computer.
So I am not very faithful that cleaning the whole EA/Origin * really helps.
But I will try this myself.
And I dont think that your internet connection sucks.
It took me 16 hours to download BF2 with 100 Mbit/s cable connection.
EAs servers seem to be as good as their troubleshooting abilities :-/.

UPDATE
I was able to start the game when starting Windows 10 in safe mode with Networking.
Tested this a few times and it works every single time.
Afterwards I tried deactivating several Services like...
- Firewall
- Anti Virus (Bitdefender)
- Steam Services
- Logitec Services
- etc.
...but I am still not able to play the game when booting Windows normaly.
So maybe you have some further ideas?
Cheers

@null9elf Forgot if I mentioned this already, port forwarding?
Port Forwarding -- https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/#battlefront
- Anonymous8 years agoUpdate. Clean install download did nothing (not supprised). Still getting a fully working Starkiller base arcade mode and that is it.
Will try safe mode plus a few other things later today but fast running out of things to check/test. I also have the same issue HELP!!!
- Anonymous8 years ago
Hello, i had this problem, only arcade worked, and game did not install 0% all the time, i did a "clean bot" on my windows 7, and now it worked.. search it up its no so hard. fast and easy
but now i did not get to play star wars today, used all night figuring this out, now im going to sleep.
I could not wait to take my computer to the living room on my 55inch tv with 4k this friday.. but then all this * * happend.
* this game and * EA for not having a better launcher, and * them for destroying my star wars hype for this friday night.
Friday destroyed.
ha thanks man you are my savior it's work now 🙂 can I reactivate all the services now?

@magzix3 Mate, you're a bloody ripper.
Update for everyone else. What magzix3 has suggested has worked (in part) here for me. Doing the clean boot for Windows 10 (v 1709) has now allowed me to launch the full game 3 times in a row with perfect success. The campaign starts smoothly (quit after a min just for testing).
I used the steps here on this website for a windows 10 clean boot: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows I've never had to do this before.
This is telling me that there is some form of incompatibility with either a startup .exe OR a service on my machine with Battlefront II (2017). As a number of people on this forum are listing similar issues this tells me this service or system is common amongst us PC users.
I am still putting this down to a clear fault with the game and ea service need to address this as a matter of priority. A number of people on this forum are listing this exact problem or similar. Simple reasoning why this is an EA/Battlefront 2 issue is that every other software and game on my rig runs perfectly without having to spend over 24 hours fault finding, redownloading, testing and actively following these forums for solutions.
As for this evening I'm going to enjoy this game for the first time (if nothing else goes wrong). Tomorrow will go through (hopefully) every service and startup .exe within the clean boot system configuration to try and work out exactly where the clash is.
P.S. Just a sneaky suspicion. How many of us with this issue are running either asus hardware (MB, GPU etc) and or asus front end software (AI suite / fan controllers etc)? Will be trying these first thing tomorrow.
Good luck all!

UPDATE (problem solved):
I also did a clean boot and disabled all non Microsoft services.
Afterwards I switched all the services back on, one by one.
After around 150 reboots, I was able to locate that single one service which caused all the trouble:
ASUS ROG Game First III
I uninstalled it, switched all the other services back on and - finally - everything works perfectly.
I really hope this might help you guys, too. If you have any further questions, just let me know.
Cheers

omg you beautiful *!
Killed Asus services and it booted into the full game, not the "arcade 0% installation" prison i have called home for 2 days.
In the past there had been randomly occasions it had booted the full game but it was terribly sluggish, its even smooth.
Yeah I can confirm that this is that services who cause the problem 🙂 (Game FIRST III)
Worked for me! Can't thank you enough!
