But it doesn't mean you can transfer your progress between PS4 and PC, it's impossible as these are different platforms.
The different platforms thing is not much of an argument. There are a number of heavy-hitter, popular titles that allow you to transfer progress between platforms. Destiny 2 and Call of Duty both come to mind.

However, I do hope that EA (and everyone else) gets solidly on board with the cross-platform play movement that has been building steam for the last few years, even if it does not benefit this particular game.
