What if we are NOT getting the 1066 error, but there are no players in the lobby - do we still do this ^ ?

I did as Ataashi suggested and removed the settings folder and was able to join a game on the Ireland ping site, but still no luck with the English one.

So far we confirmed that this method is successful only for players experiencing error 1066 - more information about this from F8RGE here.

We're still investigating the issue with empty lobbies.

After deleting the "settings" directory as suggested, I was successfully able to join two separate games almost instantly.

@EA_Ataashi the Ireland ping site works but it's not always reliable, sometimes not finding a game or taking me to empty lobbies still. This is usually after returning to menu. 

I am west coast (Oregon ping site) on xbox and get nothing but empty lobbies.  I have tried resetting internet, game and xbox and nothing works.  Was able to play a few matches this morning, but after a break, i can't play now.  Hope you get this straightened out soon.

Well whaddya know, does this latest development sound familiar?

I and others have been saying adamantly for weeks now that the UK site (among others) was busted, that Ireland worked best for UK players (some of the time), and that we're still getting empty lobbies regularly!

But did anyone listen? Did anybody at EA think perhaps it's not just an issue with the ping auto select system? Did anyone bother to research it or perform thorough server system checks before announcing a fix and releasing it to the community?

As we know the answer to all of these questions is a resounding big fat NO!

So that's it for me, as like I said before... if they didn't sort this in the update then I'm done with posting and trying to get results through this forum.

The official support network doesn't listen to or react to input, and the consequence is it doesn't help anyone, it just rolls from one issue to the next with complete arrogance and ignorance. It has become just an avenue to vent frustration and to wait blindly in the hope that something is being done or that somebody at EA actually cares. They obviously don't and the game has become a massive joke, so while I'll still play it from time to time purely because I love Star Wars and have invested a lot of time (and money) in it I'm just not prepared to waste any more energy on the futility of this forum.

I'm gonna try non-EA pastures new for my main source of gaming time from now on. Something that isn't riddled with bugs and controversy, haven't decided what yet but none of us are spoilt for choice when it comes to quality gaming.

Anyway, I wish you all the best and hope you actually get some resolutions or success on here in the future.

Tried Virginia  on PC, not enough players to start a match.

 Tried Oregon on PC in US on Blast, not enough people.  Then tried GA and got the 1066 error for the first time in a while.  Going to try the file delete "solution".

Very sad to hear that @SnowmanHD, but I can't blame you.

Players have been asking for more content (and are willing to pay with cosmetics etc) which is still being behind on schedule (my feeling). But the worst thing is the minimal features and service the game offers. A good example of this service is the long time the developers need to solve the technical issues with the game. The ping issue has been around for 2 months before some players could even play the game. There is no one that will buy crystals if you can't even play the multiplayer. Very disappointing.

An example for features would be the typing in the game. It is just not finished! The system in place for SWBF2015 is better, and even the older entries in the franchise have better typing capabilities (and have private matches).

F8RGE just said the connection glitch isn't caused by the ping issue, but something different. I really hope they can fix this soon, and I mean in like 1-2 weeks. As you said, it is very sad they didn't find that earlier and again questions the ability to solve these issues.

Deleted "Settings" folder.  Now able to play GA on Virgina server.   Yeah!

Cannot get into a Blast match on Virginia or Oregon servers.

Having to wait to get enough people in GA (on PC).  Never use to before all the issues.  Use to get right in almost always on GA.

It must have been a stroke of luck that I got in the GA match on PC.  Now I cannot get into any GA matches on Ohio, Virginia, or Oregon.   Empty lobbies.   ☹️   

Hope they fix it soon.

@MurfOriginalthe worst thing is that when I set my ping site to ANY USA server I almost immediately join a full lobby, but when I return to the Brazil server its always the same joke: dead, empty lobbies.

I don't know what is worse: not playing the game or playing a competitive shooter game with lag and 200+ ping...

@SnowmanHDI'm aware of that. I did several complaints that THE problem wasn't the "ping site option goes to random place", THE problem was that the local servers was ALWAYS busted for local people. I posted this here. I sent them emails. And all they did was to "fix" a bug that switched the ping site in the options (a very easy fix) and went on parading the streets like heroes. And the problem goes on.

I seriously would love to get paid to literally do nothing all week. I'm already pro at that.

Closed out game, deleted folder, changed server to US, Oregon (I live in Illinois). This resolved the 1066 error, but now I am back in empty lobby which has been a consistent problem since the patch.

This is the exact problem I have been having.

Same, for weeks now this has not been working. 

Also, what happened to the single player campaign, with the story, or did that get shelved when they realised no one will pay for stupid crystals
