Re: Cant make any sense of combat/objective score placement

Thanks @The_Storm_Panda for asking this question, combat placement and objective placement seem to work in some sort of inexplicable way. I've had games where you join at the very end of the game don't even have time to fire a shot and yet seen both my combat and objective placement score to my shock say 27/39 for both. Its not just once I've had this happen it regularly gives you some mad scores when joining at the end of the game and done very little. Can someone explain how these are calculated because atm they just seem like some nonsense made up stat. The other day I came top of a GA leaderboard by about 10k+ points, I had 80 something odd eliminations some 15-20 were assists and the only death suffered was when I respawned manually to get Palpatine(this was a very unbalanced match found it very easy). The person closest to my elimination score had somewhere around the 30-40 mark. I had captured and defended every objective in this game and at times on my own. I remembered thinking before the game ended OK surely the stats have to say 1/40, 1/40, 1/40. Game ends it read 3/40, 3/40, 1/40.

Second couldnt have possibly had as many kills as the total eliminations was less than just the kills I had and they finished as a hero so must have died at least once. But 3rd combat placement with an 60+:1kd I thought wtf. So combat placement score can't possibly be to do with K/D. Perhaps combat placement is about total damage and they had been taking out vehicles all game long or something. Objective placement I couldn't understand either, it was on Kasshyyyk and during the MTT phase we finished with 100% MTT health, I personally was at the very front edge of the boundaries the entire time preventing the enemy from getting anywhere near at least two of the ion disruptors at any one time and then heading over and still covering the 3rd disruptor when necessary. Heading back and taking out anyone who had managed to grab a disruptor. 2nd phase I ended up at numerous times on my own around the objective of which I captured both and made a nest around them until my team were able to join me. Then phase 3 same again I moved in tactically taking out the opposition holding down the advance until rejoined by team mates pushing forward, I captured one objective built a nest and held it down. Then straight across the map to the rear fuel pipes and same again I personally captured the objective as a few team mates managed to rejoin me and pick up the stragglers. Then I held it down on my own on at least 3 occasions as it was recaptured by the defenders and I recaptured the objective on all 3 occasions. This is with Palpatine, so the area needs to be clear or you just get melted trying to capture the objective. Almost did on a few occasions. But apparently this was not 1/40 worthy. Yet I've had games where I finish 12th for example, and get objective placement of 1/40 and combat placement of 4/40 with not that many kills. I've also seen it say something like 25/40 when at the top of the board. It would be really nice if someone could explain how these work as it's very confusing and unclear.

@Tinogiggedy- On screen when you get killed it shows a quick tally of what you achieved such as "Sacrifice, Player Damaged/Killed or Playing the objective etc.".  Maybe you don't get killed enough for "playing the objective" to count !!! LOL

  • @ggibb65 ahh now your being silly, if only I had the skill to do it every game :eahigh_file: I'm describing one game which was very poorly balanced where I found myself overwhelmingly dominant and still the scores were just sooo random. I doubt dying gives you additional objective score but who knows maybe it does. Normally you see bits of playing the objective score as you play the objective whatever that is. But as @The_Storm_Panda says there are some games where you do next to nothing and get 1/40 for objective I can maybe understand if it's like Takodana and all you do is find a spot to camp in phases 1 and 3, you could comfortably not do much but be placed inside the objectives for much of the game but what about the other maps like the game on Kasshyyyk I mentioned above. What do you need to do to get 1 on objective placement more than capture and hold down all the objectives yourself and be on the winning team.

The other day I had a really notably obscure combat placement. Came in about a half of the game played, finished mid table somewhere. Nowhere near the most kills guaranteed, died about the same amount of times. I had about 15 kills, 14 deaths and in the region of about 10 assists. Combat placement score 1/40. But 60+:1k/d 20+ assists compared to next persons 30-40 eliminations total=3/40 combat placement as described in my post above. Huh? How? There has to be some reason.

They gave us some extra stats but with those a whole lot of confusion. All I'm asking is that someone from EA explain how they are calculated. If someone not from EA has any clue please feel free to chip in.

@Tinogiggedy - I know what your saying. I have never understood the scoring in the game even before the addition of objective placing etc. I have been given more credits at times when I have had less game points. In regard to this topic. I have had Objective placement of 3/40 and combat 4/40 but only with a team placement of 34/40 whilst in other games getting obj. 17/40 combat 29/40 and team 10/40. I will never figure it out unless someone can explain it in black & white and simple terms.
