Re: Error Code 1,066

@Veovis77

For clarification, error 1,066 means that your matchmaking has timed out, which can be caused by connectivity issues (more common) or missing update files - you won't be able to play if your version of the game is old.

Has anyone tried to reinstall the game to solve this problem? 🤔 If you're on PC you can try Repair option, but full re-installation might be required. I recommend downloading it via Origin too - this way you'll already get the updated version of the game with no extra downloads.

    lmao! all you had to do was post that in the first place!

    I was apparently missing files from the update and the game seems fixed! I just ran the origin repair option on BF2 and it got to 100%. Then it said "downloading" followed by finalizing and I tried loading a match and lo and behold....FIXED! Thanks a ton Ataashl!

    @-ULTRA-LXV

    I'm sorry that I didn't connect the two dots sooner and offered this step in the first place 😞

    Like I mentioned before, previous cases suggest that the problem is usually connected with local Internet settings, but I'm glad that we were finally able to figure it out 🙂

    For sure, I'm sincerely glad you thought of it. The game even plays better than previous! loving the updates. Thanks a ton!

    I will note that this was an issue not due to connectivity but an issue on my end nonetheless. It is not your fault you didn't think of it sooner as even the EA guy over the phone didn't suggest it. I sincerely didn't know Origin had a repair option but also didn't know the game didn't completely update, which is odd considering it originally finalized and everything.

    This did indeed fix it though and I'm very happy with the updates! The game really does play smoother than previous...I have no idea if this is because of the Solo update or because of the Origin repair. Sincerely, thanks a ton and 3 quarters of another ton!

    I'll echo DEVXXVII - repair seems to have done the trick.  Whilst that does mean it was local to my system, it does still appear to have been an issue with the update installation... that it happened to multiple people is a concern.

    Thank you for the successful suggestion.

    Reinstalling? Giggles...
    Deleting settings folders...
    Changing ports... Get out of here,,,

    This is what ubisoft did around 2010 and 2014 and ppl didnt like it a lot. Either cancel the game, or make it free.

    I've just reinstalled the game after many months away from it after it bored me silly.  I thought I'd try the new update but lo and behold I cannot play any multiplayer game at all.  Error 1,066 every time in every game type.  All the baloney connection, permission and firewall type fixes do nothing and are meaningless really since it ran fine on the same router, link and PC 9 months ago.  Looks like if I want to play this again I have to wipe and go through an 80 Gb download again, or just bin it as a bad idea.  Top quality.

  • this is still a problem, trying every day and still. where are the servers located, why so many errors, this is just one of them, a server browser could solve this but no, even connecting to a game has to be arcade
