Re: Game won't launch

If the game was purchased thru Steam or Epic, there was a change a couple weeks ago such that EA app is now used instead of Origin. However, the method of starting is the same - i.e. start from Steam, if you purchased from Steam. FWIW - I got the game directly thru EA (Origin) and the game is starting fine.

Based on something I saw from @EA_Atic, below is a prioritized list of some things you might want to try.

  1. Make sure all overlays are off (mainly for troubleshooting).
  2. In EA app, select "App Recovery".
  3. Reinstall SWBF2 and EA app:
    1. Uninstall SWBF2 and EA app.
    2. Remove any left over folders of EA app.
    3. Reinstall SWBF2 from Steam/EPIC.
    4. It should now install a new version of EA app.

Let me know if any of those work for you.

    Sir, none of your methods work either EA works like it works for Star Wars The Old Republic which I pay and it works because people are paying every month and never in my life had I a problem with it either you can say there are no solutions because EA abandoned the project. All the EA App does is minimizing after the play button, The star wars battlefront II process is on the cpu but the game visually does not launches . All in all what it does is it the EA app minimizes, the play button gets gray and then becomes available to press again after 15 seconds

    Do you know of any other solutions. I've been trying to fix this problem for days. I've followed your instructions as listed, i've tried downloading the game on steam, EA, Epic and Origin to no avail, tried mod loaders and running the launcher and game as administrator. At this point ive probably downloaded the game about 5 times with no luck. Nothing I do seems to work. All that happens is either the EA or Origin tab minimises for a couple of seconds after i try to load the game up then they pop back up and the game refuses to launch.

    Same for me, I was playing on Origin and it was working. Now it works but I cant install mods anymore. With gestionnary task open, the game launching 2-3 second and after, the EA Desktop pop-up and the game closes.

    I click launch on game, it says: "starting" then just stops. Nothing ever happens. 

    No mods, nothing. 

    Tried it on both of my gaming desktops with their own steam/EA games accounts, and even tried one on a different network. Same issue. 

    What's weird is the 2nd PC was working last night, but woke and now it's not. No one used it in between now and then.

    Well I tried to uninstall Electronic Arts from the folder but it says that " The action can't be completed because the folder or file in it is open in another program." and I don't know how to close it
