Re: "Going Down The Rabbit Hole"

my personal philosophy on this ... and this is only a theory; I could never “prove” this but it fits ..

If you troll through the Answers forums you’ll find threads where new players to the game complain about getting steam rolled by higher level players. .... well, obviously, they know how to play the game!

rather than simply adding in game modes to help ease new players into the game (which they did, so credit due) newer players weren’t using them and overall gameplay feedback and rating was dismal.

in comes the new TROS movie and ES knew there would be an update to the game and a great opportunity to draw player into the game or back to it ... now here’s where it gets interesting.

if you also troll the Answers forums you’ll see plenty of threads complaining about matchmaking! And they’re 100% correct!

you see EA fouled up and not only created a player level but separate character levels. This ultimately ended up meaning that proper matchmaking was incredibly difficult because what measure do they use to

put players of somewhat equal caliber together? A vast majority of players will have strength and weakness characters based on their play style. I, for example, don’t use Lando or Palestine as their logic don’t correspond to how I typically play the game.

all of this meant that EA needed a way to “balance”

out the players and do something about the matchmaking ... well what could they do???? ... well they “could” implement a progressively eroding buff on individual character and class levels. In this way players using lower class characters wouldn’t be as susceptible to getting steam rolled, however, I think they went too far.

the last piece that ties this whole theory together is that last month EA announced on the official BF forums that the overall game environment satisfaction among players is “higher than its ever been”. ..... ummm ... according to whom?!? Who was surveyed?!? Because there’s LOTs of ongoing issues and problems on the Answers forums that haven’t been addressed and those players sure aren’t happy. ...... now IF (and I can’t stress the IF enough) ... IF EA did implement a progressively reducing buff and newer players reaped the benefits I guess THEY would be happy, huh?

again this is all theory based on what I’ve seen from the game itself, from EA, and from the player mix of the game now (anyone else notice just how many MORE newer players are in the game now versus veteran players???).

If this were true EA would never admit it; but I ask you all; do you have any other rationale that would explain everything that a lot of us are seeing in the game?!? Because I don’t. .... if EA would like to give us one I’m all ears.

    Hello there again,

Opening another topic about the topic I just closed not cool and not okay on the forum.

For the videos that @VetteC5RX have highlighted, I have sent on the team to get investigated to see what is going on there.

Like I said in the other topic there is no handicap in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 in any form for new or old players.

If you see inconsistency with hero abilities or any inconsistency in the game make a topic about that issue and please add a video showing us what is going on, also tag me in the topic.

Regarding this topic, I will be closing it as its conversation about the topic I just closed.

Edit: Merging new post talking about the above topic in here.
