It will also depend on whether a similar game is released. This is currently the only online Star Wars game of this genre, as far as I'm aware.

I agree. Until they announce a Battlefront 3 or the license runs out and someone else puts out a multiplayer Star Wars game to rival Battlefront, this game will likely have a healthy player base...at least in regions like NA and Europe and on PS4. Maybe other platforms and regions will struggle. As an example, Battlefield 4 is most definitely alive and well on PS4 in NA over 6 years after it launched. It hasn't had content updates since Fall 2015, but it's widely regarded as the best Battlefield experience on PS4. It's also the last Battlefield game from DICE to do a modern setting which seems to be the most popular setting for the series.
