Re: Is Star Wars Battlefront 2 Anything Like 2015?

Unfortunately, nothing you said really stood out to me as intriguing.  I don't wanna play another Call of Duty or Battlefield.  I liked the quirky Lightheartedness of 2015's SWB2015.  There's STILL no free for all, and they ruined Cargo for those who liked how it felt before.  I like small 6v6/8v8 game modes.  I don't know if this game has anything that would appeal to me now that Cargo is more fast paced and that "cheesy gadgets" are gone like you said.  I can't "try out" the game.  That's a $60 demo. lol

Can I turn invisible?  Is the Laser Trip Mine back?  Is there anything not serious about the competitive multiplayer in this game at all? lol -_-

I would play the old SWB 2015, but they left it broken.  Scatter Gun, EE-4, and bad teammates ruin it.  And Palpatine, Leia, and sometimes Luke ruin Hero Hunt ☹️

Absolutely zero like bf15, bf2 literally sucks by comparison other than maybe HvV modes. Cheese and spam are 99% of bf2’s makeup with little to no skill required, just literally spam everything and you’ll do well or okay with 20 man squads like everyone else .

It has awful small modes, maps aren’t far behind as design goes, gunplay is beyond bad and balance is even worse, then there’s no private matches, tons of hero spam, reinforcement spam, choke points everywhere, tons of grenade spam, and unlimited shock/stun/force spam. If that’s your thing then bf2 is the game for you.

Oh yeah, ttk is like 20 minutes with the unlimited health buffs and damage reductions, and don’t forget that tons of wall hacks are actually a thing made in the game, then almost every hero has an aimbot of some form, sabers and gun heroes alike. So again, if you seriously do like bf15 chances are you’ll abhor bf2.

Let me also add bf2 is not good for the solo player. most players are in huge GA squads and the same goes for HvV. That’s fine if the game had any form of normal matchmaking but it doesn’t, it has the worst matchmaking I’ve seen in any game and worse yet I’ve read it’s that way on purpose.

Bf15 separated the top players most matches, not put them on the same team vs level 1 randoms. This is especially bad for new players vs the sweats be it GA or HvV. HvV has also become as toxic as any game with 3 and 4 max levels using exploits like Finn for basically unlimited health reduction going against noobs that have no clue, also happens in most GA matches with choke points.

The above is why we need a totally new and revamped battlefront 3 from scratch. Keep the good aspects of 15’s infantry play and maybe bf2’s hero play, but above all add balance and make it a little more skill based instead of mindless button spam. Then add back modes like cargo and dropzone along with private matches and map selection and server options like battlefield.

  • Goodness gracious.  This game sounds like a train wreck.  Thank you for your insightful input.

@MaximumDragon500Don't mind this guy, just try it out yourself. You'll then see whether you like it or not.

I don't get his points about high TTK or cheese-spam because that has been absolutely no problem with shielded jetpack-bactazerkers, one-shot pulse-rifles and EE-4 wielders in BF2015, right?

Yeah, a lot of skilled gunplay involved there. It's a casual game regardless and I prefer BF II overall because it has less of that "haha I have the better weapon and gadget than you" and allows positioning and aim to matter more. Even as hero this matters because unlike in BF2015 you don't have those massive armor boosts.

We might have reinforcements and heroes with more hp in BFII, but that doesn't necessarily mean much if the opponent soldiers are skilled as well, so even they can get downed pretty fast.

For real, overall the gadgets and weapons of soldiers in BFII are far less overkill than in BF2015.

Also the thing about squads... yeah it's not like that's the norm or that it doesn't exist in BF2015 either. Was a lot of fun when some -Shin- cheaters ruined match after match, right?

So that's not even related to the game itself, but the players. Anyways, many of those tryhard clans have abandoned BFII in the meantime while we received a flood of new players after epic games. I get it, pub-stomping is highly frustrating, but that's more a thing of the past and was just as a problem in BF2015 too.

I mean if in BF2015 only 4 or 5 clan-sweats are needed to empty an entire server while in BFII this requires a party of like 10 players, something is definitely not going right either way.

We still have emergent clans, but a lot of these are mainly filled with casuals and noobs, not dominated by arrogant and trashtalking uber-sweats.

  • So he was wrong about the small game modes being bad?

And again, what do you mean by "try it out"?  Pay $60?  I'm on PS4 btw, not PC.

Let me reiterate the main point of my original post.  I just wanted a more refined Battlefront 2015, not Battlefield donning Star Wars paint.

@MaximumDragon500Ok then. As you seem to look for a game that's exactly like BF2015 with all mechanics and all and not really a different Battlefront game, then you probably want continued support for that game.

Anyways, both games are casual, so understand that no one can tell you when what game is too serious for your taste or what BFII-specific features you might like in that context, hence I said try it out.

I mean even in BF2015 you can make a science out of it which weapons and gadgets you chose to get first place etc., but that's up to the individual player.

Have you watched some Let's Plays on youtube yet? That might help too to determine whether you want or not.

  • Yeah, I have.

Tell me about the small game modes.  Let's start with Blast.  Does each team have their own base?  Or is it like BF2015 where you spawn in a completely different area away from the enemy if they push too hard?

I saw that the laser-trip mine is in the game still.  That was one of my favorite star cards.  I like tricky gadgets like that, the infantry turret, stinger pistol, dioxis grenade, proximity bomb, etc.  Is there really still no invisibility?

The reason I asked about if there was a small game mode with designated bases for each team is because in the old 2015's Blast you could never really backstab an opponent because they always spawn across from you.  You will always face head to head.  That's boring.

So cargo was my main game mode.  People focused on protecting their cargo, so I could hide in their base and surprise them like a ninja. lol  I was fun, flexible gameplay like that--not linear style gameplay where it's always the same feeling no matter what abilities you have.

Don't tell me about Cargo.  I know they ruined it.  It's fast passed.  I'll be backstabbing no one there anymore.  Trash

Are heroes now allowed in small game modes like I wanted?  I though I saw Chewbacca in blast.  I wanna use Bossk, Nein, etc in small modes that have infantry.

Tell me about the cool abilities in the games too.  I don't want a normal shooter.  So whatever is different about the weapons and abilities in this game than your typical shooter like Call of Duty and Battlefield, tell me.  I already gave you some examples of cool abilities a few sentences up.   Be sure to answer all my questions.  Thanks.

@MaximumDragon500 I recommend BF2015...It plays better and has no broken Anakin. The only broken and OP hero is Chewbacca, but you can flank him and take him down. Maps play better and there is no choke points.

My two favorite modes Cargo and Hero Hunt are broken because of broken heroes, out of bound glitches, OP hero health, scatter gun, and ee-4.  That's why I haven't played it in months and am not looking forward to playing it ever again. lol  They left it broken, and that makes me mad.

Let me sun it up, if you like Star Wars, the clone wars, a great SW score and some cool maps but suck at shooters play Bf2. Also if saber spam and heroes is your thing play Bf2, it’s a minimal skill but still fun starwars experience for the masses.

If you like Starwars, or if you don’t, but want a lot more competitive 3rd person experience that’s not cod, that also has more balanced gameplay then play bf15. The guys that complain about bacta/bg mostly suck because there’s a ton of simple counters.

Most  bf2 so called elites, as they like to call themselves, that I’ve played with didn’t last long on bf15. Even $5000 tournaments with free entry wasn’t enough to get them over.

"The guys that complain about bacta/bg mostly suck because there’s a ton of simple counters."

Yeah as if there's no way for experienced players to then again prepare and react against such counterplays while using bacta and stuff.
The game offers a lot of tools and there are reasons why the "meta" revolves around the same spectrum all the time. Obviously because it works, and not only against bad players.

"Most bf2 so called elites, as they like to call themselves, that I’ve played with didn’t last long on bf15"

Being good on one game doesn't mean that you're going to be great at the other one at day 1 too, regardless if you come from games that are considered hardcore competitive or another casual shooter like BF2015 and vice versa.

Also people stay or leave games depending how much fun they have there, so what exactly are you proving here? How good someone is or not isn't the real reason why people are playing games, just whether they want to invest themselves further into it or not.

Whatever, acting like BF2015 is some kind of renown hardcore game makes me chuckle anyways.
