Re: lag and freeze's with 960

@Gurge91 What are your full system specs? And what resolution are you playing at? How well do you play games like SWBF1, GTA V, Destiny 2? The minimum CPU that is recommended for SWBF2 is an i5 6600K and you will need at least 8GB RAM, preferably DDR4. Your CPU is below par for this game's minimum requirements. Gaming at 1440p or lower, CPU power matters just as much as GPU since often more load is on the CPU to push the frames to the GPU. That said, with a GTX 960 4GB, you would see 40-50FPS on ultra. It seems a few others are having issues with the 2GB card playing this game terribly. You may be able to pick up a GTX 1050Ti dirt-cheap during the Black Friday deals, price to performance is almost unparalleled.

If upgrading is not an option at the moment, I would suggest turning down the resolution to 900p or lower in the game settings, this may help. Running the lowest graphics settings, turning on Vsync, as well as identifying what is using all your graphics card's VRAM. The case may be that it is being exceeded and your HDD is being used as temporary RAM or VRAM. On top of your CPU if the issue is also with that.

I played the sw BF 1 beta and that game ran very well on my pc. I watched some clips on youtube with people with the exact same cpu and gpu playing BF2 on high. So i thought I could play it on medium however I can't. I tried messing with the resolutions and turning everything on low settings but the game still freeze's. I have an fps counter and it says 60. I think its the cpu but the reason i dont want to upgrade is because of the ram prices. thx for the response.

@Gurge91 I tried to do some more digging around but couldn't find much more info, though, it DOES seem it is more EA's fault, NOT yours/ your hardware. The game is running terribly for myself now, too and their servers seem absolutely terrible. huge FPS dips and rubber-banding.

I agree, though, RAM is ridiculously priced right now. It's absurd

I bought a ryzen 1600 with 16 gb ddr 3000 (was at discount for 170 euro and few hours later the price was back to 210)

Game runs ok now. Next year planning on a new gpu.
