Re: No Help from EA with error STAR WARS Battlefront II (0x8027025a)

@mysweetescape13 your 'How can we find the bug ourselves?' explanation had me in stitches. Simplification and sarcasm rolled into one! Well played 😃

As far as I can see the error is an error with your Xbox, not the game specifically, and can happen to other games as well. You might want to Google around some, video's like this one has many suggestions:

You can also try Xbox's support. If it's a rare issue they will have access to many more reports of possible solutions from a wide range of developers and not just a single game like here.

    @SnowmanHD

I presented it just as EA Help Desk would performed any "troubleshooting" steps. No sarcasm since I have two logs of proof of what they asked. Seriously my nephew could do better, and he is a child who understands what TCP/IP is.

    @Carbonic

It is specifically with SWBF2. How did I come to that conclusion you may ask. Well, it occurred three times on my Xbox One (2015) edition. The first time I un-installed and re-installed this game. Oh look it still happens, so this time I performed the same steps, but also reset my entire Xbox One. I play other games with DVD's doesn't have the error. So then I remove the DVD and sign up for EA Access and install the Trail Version. Well you would think sure, its the DVD, right...

Wrong! It happened the third time even with EA Access Trial Version, a "Digital Download"

So what does EA Help advise to do, get a new console. So I bought a new console XBOX ONE X just to play EA Dice Battlefront II. And just to make sure it was not the disk, on January 16th, I returned my original Star Wars Battlefront II Deluxe Trooper Edition to GameStop and received a Brand New One. I have the receipts and photographed the new one still sealed as proof before opening a second product.

And if that is not enough, as I have stated on other posts I started over with a completely new email address, a new Xbox Live ID, a new Gold Membership, and using this sole new email address signed up with EA, confirmed the email address and typed the new email address for just this game on my new XBOX ONE X.

So with this brand new Star Wars Battlefront II Deluxe Trooper Edition, I installed the entire program first. Then I restarted my XBOX ONE X, Then I downloaded and installed the updates which took three hours, which was only 16.4Gb on a 100mbps fiber optic Internet Service Provider. So I started playing and yet I get hit with 18 separate glithes, bugs, and report them to EA, which does nothing.

So it is almost one week, one week of dealing with (0x8027025a) with no help from EA.. except one comment from a community manager who told me to get lens cleaner. Of which I was extremely angry and frustrated that EA would even suggest such a thing. Does anyone "actually" read the posts at all, I mean seriously!

So I wasted another hour with a person from EA Help Chat last night, and I can assure you he was not qualified or certified to assist with this problem. Thankfully though I am returning the latest and greatest directly to a Microsoft Store...

Oh, you've tried that many things, would have been nice for us all on this community-driven forum to know at the start. Us fellow gamers don't know what you have done with the EA people.

Seems to me like you have eliminated everything except your internet (+ the route between you and EA's servers) and perhaps your payment method of your gold membership.

I documented what has occurred, directly from my post New XBOX ONE X 21 days error only with STAR WARS Battlefront II
I emailed the case to EA Help and provided the same details of the post, 21 days error only with STAR WARS Battlefront II (0x8027025a) case number #38822905
I attached an image, twice to this case, the same image I am posting now.

And yes, I have checked, my Xbox Live Gold membership is active and intact.

First was this response, "As I can see there is no information in the case number you have provided." He asked me "Alright my friend, have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps?" I replied "I have done everything capable."

Here is what he suggested..directly in sequence ----------------------------------

Have you check your internet connection, if your xbox is facing any connections issue
Have you tried restarting your xbox?
Is your xbox up to date?
I am going to provide you a solution steps. Please go through it. It will surely work for you.
Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status
Solution 2: Start the app again
    Solution 3: Restart your console

I informed EA Help "Are you kidding? This is not appropriate or helpful."

His reply "I have provided you these as it has worked for me and for other players in the past. I was facing the same issue and tried these steps and my issue got fixed."

I said "Seriously that would mean Xbox Core Services have been down since Wednesday 02-07-2018 with your logic. I request a senior technician that is capable."

So he sent a list of troubleshooting steps by email. I requested a senior technician, I demanded his boss, and I get a email with ugh...

So I informed this individual "who" would love to fix this for me, What I have not done is examine the machine code of the central processor unit of Xbox One X. What I have not done is examine EA developer code pertaining to acknowledgement and handshake protocols for TCP/IP with EA server in Ohio.
Yes, I already used a packet sniffer with my XBOX ONE X, so is that more than capable of the layman to understand, I do not know.

If anyone else is TCP/IP certified, Cisco Certified, a genuine MCSA OR MCSE, even a DST... please step up.

Having read everything you have tried, it seems like it might be related to your internet connection/modem/router. If two different Xboxes, with different versions of the game (physical and digital download) have the same issue, it seems unlikely that it would be a Battlefront software issue or a Xbox hardware issue.

I know you have to be extremely frustrated at this point. This is a crazy suggestion, but do you have a friend who you could try hooking up your Xbox to their internet and trying the game? That would immediately eliminate either the Xbox hardware/software as the problem (if it works), or would make it unlikely that your internet connection/modem/router is the problem (if it didn't).

To clarify I have the physical DVD with my Internal Xbox One (2015). I have the EA Trail Digital Download on an external sata. I have the same, new physical with my Internal XBOX ONE X.
This error only happens with one game, one game out of the games I am playing or have played with my Xbox One (2015). The games I recently tried after seeing this error are Ubisoft "The Division" DVD version and Ubisoft's "For Honor" Digital Downloaded version. I have also played COD WWII DVD no issue, Ghost Recon Wildlands digital, no issues.
I also have used several apps for streaming such as CBS, VUDU, CWTV, HBO, no errors there, except when congested from network traffic.

I will take it to somewhere else if necessary, just to rule my ISP out,  clearly it is not my ISP. I will definitely give it a try, just to tighten the noose around what this is actually from.

Definitely not my ISP, but its solved, I returned it directly to Microsoft this morning. The specialist at the store took a mouthful of my frustration and anger, and returned my money today. There is no reason to invest money into a second console for one single game from EA!
