Re: No sound
Thx for answering!
But no, it isn't my PC or headset.
when i open the volume mixer i see that the game does not make sound at all, which even if it was muted i would still be able to see.

I think it is important to mention that when i play in a party i can hear them talk...
I'm assuming in game party you are talking about?
/Atic
Again, i can hear everything, even people talking through Origin.
The only thing i cannot hear is the ingame sounds...
Thx for your answer though.
Try moving the SWBF2 document folder to the desktop and then tart the game up to see if there any corrupted files in there. @AnDutchGuy
What head set are you using?
/Atic
How would i be able to see if a file is corrupted?
and i am using a Trust headset, idk how that info helps though...
By moving the file out of the documents folder, you will have a back up copy. You need to move the folder so it is no longer in the documents directory.
Reboot, then launch the game. A new folder will be created in the Document folder. If the sound works, you had a problem or corrupted file. If nothing changes, then it was not those files.
Then we can try other options..

Does it specificly need to be the desktop? or can i move it to any other map that it isn't already in?
You can move it to other folder..
Sorry, Any other folder is fine.
I moved the folder that was in the documents folder to the downloads folder.
I still don't have sound...
sould i move the folder i found elsewhere on my laptop too?
Just to confirm. You are playing on 2 computers? I do it also, when I travel.
Is there a difference on either computer or does the No game sound occur only on 1 computer?
To answer your question, you should find now that the game recreated your folder. If everything is good for you, ( credits, unlocked items, etc) you can just delete the one you moved as it is not necessary. If something was amiss, then it would have shown up upon restart.
@Major-Band1t
I have it on 1 computer.
i looked in the map where the folder was before and it did not replace it.
OK lets take a step back to confirm. 🤔
1. In your documents folder there should be a folder called STAR WARS Battlefront II. This folder has your settings for the game. Exit the game and any other programs. Open the Documents folder.
You should move this folder "STAR WARS Battlefront II" to your desktop, using the [shift key] to Move it.. Close and Reopen the document folder and see if the folder is there or not. If it's still there, then you copied it. We are trying to move it out of that folder. Then Reboot the computer.
2. Upon start up, check your documents folder that it is not there. Launch the game. Let it boot to the main menu. Check the folder to see if a new one was created. There should be a new folder called STAR WARS Battlefront II with setting from the server.
3. If all is well, for credits, unlocks etc, then you can delete the folder you moved to the desktop. Now try the game sounds in any mode you like.
4. If you have sound, good to go. If not I will have a couple ideas for you to try next. 😉
I did everything you told me to do, but still have no sound...
OK, so games play normal other than this game, correct?
You can hear people but not game sounds, like the music, or chatter form the games AI with directions of targets?
1st Launch the game. Go to Options, bottom center should be Audio settings. Make sure Music is on. Try adjusting the volume levels. ( make a dramatic change to see if you get the sound). ) or better yet, hit reset to default.. Close the game and reboot.
If that doesn't work, try removing your sound card drivers, then reboot. Windows should find drivers upon restart.
If that doesn't work, find and reinstall your current sound driver from your manufacturers website. They may have a newer driver that will update your settings.
I will say that occasionally I will get a video or sound hiccup that 99% of the time is fixed with a full shut down,- Cold Hard Boot. Shut down. Unplug the computer, (remove battery), hit the power button while it is off to release any remaining Bios energy, then give it a minute. Reinstall battery and plug in power. Then startup .
If other games play as expected, you may need to uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot and then re-launch. Make sure to reboot after install and before you launch.
Hope this helps.
I searched for any updates for the sound driver and couldn't find any.
So i am now deleting SWBF2 and reïnstalling it with rebooting my laptop in between..
I hope it works, if it does you will hear from me. And otherwise you still will probably :P
Thx for all the help @Major-Band1t , even if it turns out not to work...
Hey @Major-Band1t,
I just finished reïnstalling SWBF2.
I still seem to have no sound...
I also let my sound drivers search for updates but it said it was the latest version.
Thanks for all the help @Major-Band1t 🙂
Try doing a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with SWBF2. @AnDutchGuy
/Atic
What would be the difference between a clean boot and just restarting the computer?
and how will i need to do that?
I think you might have send the wrong link...
when i open it i get error codes..
EDIT: nvm, my pc did something weird with opening it...
It probably didn't have anything to do with the link.
at the end of the URL that went into the searchbar there was another slash.
when i removed it the link worked.
i also went back to System config and selected all the things again except for the programs i don't use anymore and it still works.
