Hey, @jxk13 make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date. 
 
You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with SWBF2 and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.
 
Worth to reinstall the GPU drivers for your PC.

    I'm having the same issue. None of this helped. In addition to zoom, sometimes just flying in the right direction helps, but nothing I've tried will let me see the map: only the HUD and menu are consistently visible and everything else will be black.

    This was happening to me exactly as you describe.

    I'm running at 4K borderless mode, so i had turned down my graphics setting in favor of a smooth frame rate.

    Temporarily changing to windowed mode, and setting the graphics quality to high resolved the issue, i hope this works for others that encounter it.
