Re: SWBF2 Crashes Upon Launching (Unable to Play)

@Russell_Nash72And a merry Christmas to you & your family. I forgot to mention prior that you don't need to have the win 10 disk to go into recovery/repair mode. Just interrupt windows boot 3 times and it will automatically go into repair mode. Go through the menus to advanced (I'm sorry, it's been a while since I used the repair mode so I can't remember the exact order of menus to walk you through it) . DO NOT RESET YOUR PC as this will do a new installation and you will not have your program/data files. You are just looking for the command prompt so you can run the option that you missed on the link I gave you.

I will continue to research your problem but my posts may be a little spasmodic for the holiday season. Family things will limit my time.

  •  @ggibb65  I managed to do option 2 now. There is an easier way to get into safe mode. Just press "Shift" while you click on "Restart". Unfortunately option 2 still didn't work. I got the following message "Not enough memory resources are available to process this command." I googled and found that this is a bug in the 1803 release. I installed the 1809 release and this fixed the Battlefront 2 issue. Now the game starts with DirectX 12 disabled and I didn't get any crashes during several maps I played.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Howdy, folks!

Yowza, looks like a lot of us have had trouble getting Battlefront II to play. I have a similar issue to some of y'all, and hope that by posting in this thread someone might have some ideas. I'll include the DxDiag file.

What happens is I launch the game, I see its process start up in the Windows task manager, but then it disappears after a few seconds without actually loading in (i.e., no menus or other game screen ever appear) and Origin pops back up.

The game is new to me (since Christmas) and I've never gotten it to load. I have run the game's repair feature and checked for both Origin and Star Wars updates.

Any clues on what I could try? (Ah, PC gaming! haha)

    Thank you in advance!

When you go into your documents folder and then go to the "Star Wars Battlefront II" folder and you see Boot Options, open it with Notepad. If the first line says GstRender.EnableDx12 1, then just change it to GstRender.EnableDx12 0. If this doesn't fix the problem, then try setting both the Origin client and the game to run as admin each time, then see if it works. This issue sounds a bit different than mine.
  • I had so many problems with this game on 2 different PC's
My process on PC 1 win7 tried everything even updated to win10.( after rolling back to win7)
Solution in the end * Graphic card wouldn't take latest update. Installed better graphic card that took latest update NVIDIA game ran fine on win7 after that
    PC2

game wouldn't run ! After trouble shooting, Win7 wasn't up to date!
updated windows 7 found out it won't update due to my Processor was not compatible with win7 had to update to Win10.
Installed latest NVIDIA Drivers and the game runs fine
Hope this helps anyone and i save you days of troubleshooting
  • Hello!

I'm having similiar problems with the game on my PC - never started it here before and I've tried a myriad fixes, but so far none work. The only difference is my PC is not entirely up to spec, the CPU is AMD FX-6300 where the minimum is 6350. What drives me to try and launch is it I've seen the game run on this CPU a few times on the internet and I wanna know if I'm not wrong in pursuing this.

    Attacked is my DXdiag.

Thanks for your help in advance!

  • hello everyone

I have this annoying problem since I bought and installed the game for the first time

I also wrote about 3 topics related to this problem but I didn't find the solution

    what I tried:

reinstalling origin 2 times, reinstalling the game 2 times, deleting origin cache for many times, deleting game cache for 3 times, turning off in game overlays, run as admin, turning off dx12,repairing the game 4 times and...

    I'm using a gtx 1060 6gb,Intel core i7 2600k,16 gb ram and a 1080p monitor

    (my gpu driver is updated)
