Re: The texture of some character models glitches out

Hey @EA_Atic, first thank for your reply. I didn't get to test it over the the new year holidays, but now i finally had the time.

Unfortunately, none of your solutions worked, but at least the CCleaner has solved some issues with my registry files that I did not even know I had. So thanks for that hint nonetheless.

Maybe some moving footage could help you find a solutions so i made this short video with several occasions of the problem.

I'm looking forward to your next reply and hope we solve this problem.

Hey @Genarthos, Glad to hear that something helped out. :D

Do you have anything in your PC that is Overclocked, CPU, GPU and RAM?

What you also can do is move the SWBF2 settings folder to the desktop, turn off Origin cloud sync for SWBF2 and then start the game up to play around and see if that helps. This is to see if there anything bad with settings folder we saw this help for a few players.

    Hey @EA_Atic,

My PC is relativley new as I bought it in October (just in time for the Grievous update 😉 ) and I didn't play around with the standard settings. Maybe its Overclocked by default but then it shouldn't be a problem, right?

I tried your suggestion with the settings folder, then turned my PC in complete Offline Mode, so it couldn't sync anything and played arcade for some time. At first i was absolutley thrilled, because everything seemed to work. (Oh my god is Obi-Wan beautiful when he doesn't have that bug :D), but then in the second arcade round, after maybe 10 Miuntes total playtime it startet again. I only tried out Obi-Wan and the Heavy, as they mostly have the problem. After i restartet the game (with Internet and sync this time) even the General Kenobi in the main menu had the bug. (Obi-Wan isn't there in Offline mode so i don't know if he would bugged out there too, but probably yes) You can see it here if that helps: https://youtu.be/qTMxmRGovpc

Hey @Genarthos, that is interesting that it did work for 1 round. 🙂

Can you upload a dxdiag to us so we can see more in depth what drivers and hardware you have.

Can you do the settings thing again and then go to Origin, right click SWBF2, then game properties. Go to Cloud saves and turn of cloud saves. Start the game up and test a live multiplayer.

    Hey @EA_Atic,

I tried the settings thing as you suggested and in the first match (HvV this time) the bug occured sometimes, in the second match nearly all the time.

I have attached the dxdiag and hope it helps.

@RaZ_HU, how do i do that? I should mention Battlefront is the only game where i had this problems so far. I played Desitny 2, Overwatch, PUBG and some other game and i never had problem with the grafics.

Thank you both for your suggestions and your continuous help.

    Hey @EA_Atic,

I'm afraid my dxdiag file did not help finding a problem solution? What else can I do?

I'd like to be able to play this game to its full potential again as soon as the new game mode arrives.

Help me @EA_Atic, your my only hope.

Hey @Genarthos, I could not see anything that stood out on your dxdiag, so everything looked good there.

    • Do you play on DirectX 12 or 11?
    • Do you notice if any hardware is overheating in the or if anything is capping out with your hardware in task manager?
    • If you play on low settings do the same issue happen?

    Hey @EA_Atic ,

maybe you hoped my problems just did go away, but i sadly only hadn't the time to play anything, because of university and stuff.

    Regarding your questions:

    - I play on DirectX 11. I turned 12 on for some testing, but my problem occured there too and the quality wasn't that much better in my opinion, so i turned it back to 11.

    - I'm not that big of an hardware guy, But with my untrained eyes I see the GPU (so the Nvidia RTX2080) oscillates (i hope thats the right word...😉 ) between 75% and 100%. I have no idea if thats normal or too much.

    - Yes if I'm playing on low settings the same issue happens

I waited with this response after the Update today, with the minimal hope of the problem vanishing by itself after the patch, but sadly (and as expected) it didn't change anything. I had the feeling the problem occured less, but that could just be a feeling, because I'm not stopping the time :D

Hey @Genarthos, I did hope that the issue would be solved. 🙂

I would say that oscillates is the correct term, is it going in a consistent pattern?

This idea may be a bit out there in terms of fixing the problem. do you use XMP activated in bios to overclock the ram?

    Hey @EA_Atic,

i don't really know if its a consitstent pattern. Best look for yourself. I attached 2 Images showing my gpu while playing battlefront. The first one is in the menu or spawnscreen iirc and the second one while playing arcade.

The dooku screenshot is just a documentation of my daily issue :D But to stay positive: I had to play arcade for quite a while (maybe 10 minutes) for dooku to glitch out!

And i honestly don't know what "XMP activated in bios" is or how i do that or how i look that up. if there is something like that its not by me but by default.

Thanks again for your continous effort to help me!

    Hello there everyone.

Sadly my issue is still a problem for me. I don't know why, but i got a little bit better. It happens not nearly as often as 2 months ago, but it still occurs regularly. I have the little hope it gets magically fixed with the next update everytime, but as you can see in the attatched screenshot, thats not the case until know.

But I would not write again if nothing new happened. I've noticed that if the bug occurs in the HvV wait screen, the character model is reloaded after pressing the Tab key. And when it is reloaded the bug is gone again. It's the same after a respawn. After a while, it usually comes back, but sometimes not.
In addition, I have a problem where I do not know if it has anything to do with the actual problem of this thread, or if it's even a battlefront problem, but unfortunately I've had a bluescreen twice lately on Battlefront. The second time, I was fast enough to take a picture with my phone. Unfortunately, it's just a common mistake and not a specific problem I could tackle. I know, the error message is in German, but maybe the picture helps anyway. Roughly translated, it says, "A problem has occurred on the PC, it needs to be restarted, some error information is collected, and then a reboot is performed." Just googling and following the link did not help me. It would certainly help me if someone could tell me if this blue screen was triggered directly by Battlefront or if it was just twice unfavorable timing.

I would appreciate every help with my problems.

You have a really nice PC setup. A new driver came out of the RTX cards this week, do you have the latest one? Blue screens are a fatal system error. It's possible your system is running at high temperatures or faulty hardware. Are you running the game at max settings when you play?

    Hello @EA_Blueberry

Thanks for your reply. Yeah i really like my new Setup too. I have invested a bit more money this time than I usually do. I wanted a PC that I do not need to worry about and with which I can easily play whatever I want in the next few years, maybe even stepping into the VR world. But thats off topic here :D Sadly the not worry and play everything without problems didn't work out that well.

Yes I have the newest driver installed. My Geforce Experience makes sure to remind me and I double checked this after your message.  I play on maximum settings. If I buy such a great (and expensive) PC, I want to use it of course.

I'm not that big of an hardware guy, so i honestly don't know at what point the system is runnig at high temperatures, what numbers ARE high temperatures or how to prevent them (except for turning the PC off, of course). And i really hope it isn't faulty hardware, but if it is, how could i find out? I mean, the PC isn't that old and so still under warranty.

Any further help and advice is appreciated.

    @Genarthos

I would try playing the game at medium settings for a good session to see if it crashes. If not, slowly increase it up until you get to the point where you get a crash. That's a good way to test where the ceiling is for your rig when it comes to performance.

Do you have your power settings set to maximum in both the Nvidia Control Panel and on your PC?

Sorry, if this sounds dumb, but how do i look the power settings up?
I will try the medium settings this evening. But i feel like that if this works it kind of works around my problem and doesn't solve it. I think there shouldn't be a ceiling for my rig when it comes to Battlefront. Especially because I have constant 60 fps (locked there through VSync (I believe)).

Yes, I know, a lot of time has passed, but I wanted to write some final sentences here now. It was really a faulty graphics card. Fortunately, this has now been replaced under warranty and everything is finally running smoothly. Thanks a lot to @EA_Atic and @EA_Blueberry, who you have so patiently tried to help me.

Glad to hear you were able to get to the bottom of it and hopefully the new card you have doesn't come across the same fate. Reach out again if you need anything and may the Force be with you! 😃
