Thanks for the news update!
However a bit sad that such an activation did not work, I don't see the difference with the previous XP event and this one. There weren't major frontend updates, so shouldn't it just work?
Hopefully they can examine it fully (not something the player base can do) and activate it soon, so players don't have the feeling the game is being abandoned.

Agreed.
I suggest EA provide some positive updates quickly. Too much bad news recently and not enough good. Plus, very little on general timing (e.g. "targeting a patch in August"), which comes across as uncoordinated and/or uncaring.
I'm sure there are some people at EA and DICE working very hard. Unfortunately, at the moment, this is not coming across, which is unfair to them and to us.

I totally agree. A lot of people are working hard on it. Unfortunately, I believe, they have a serious problem with solving most of the issues, due to the fact, that their code is “tangled”. It seems they cannot fix a bug directly, so they add a feature with hopes, that it will change how the bug behaves. I believe it is time to move on to Battlefront 3, change the engine, put the effort there and also generate some income for the people working there. Maybe this time, they will do it right from the beginning.

@Rogue_Manda_YT I must say I disagree that they should start work on battlefront 3. Untangle this code, take the game offline for a month if they have to. I can tell you one thing for certain if they try and put out a new Battlefront without being able to make this one work I won't be buying it I think that would be my limit on the p**s taking. In fact that would be sufficient to make me boycott EA. I am holding out faith that people there are working hard and will correct the problems. Otherwise I don't see them being given anymore StarWars titles and to alienate a fan base the size of ours is not a good look. I have only ever boycotted 2 companies thus far in my life and I have never changed my mind. I have a boycott on Cadburys that's been going on 13 years and my boycott on Rockstar still going strong 4years after declaring f**k you Rockstar, I don't really want to add EA to that list for bringing out a SWBF3. That would mean a big🖕to so many other games. I really hope your idea in this instance doesn't come true.

"I believe it is time to move on to Battlefront 3"
Yea, right, lol. If they give it to all BF2 players for free, then sure. Otherwise they can shove it up right where you think.
Battlefront II is a hot mess that needs fixing. I even agree with the "taking it offline for a while" sentiment - if that takes off some pressure and makes future patches actually work as intended, then by all means go for it. I mean, the last thing I want is for this game to actually die, but man, they could not even implement a double XP weekend.
Even here, on the AHQ main page, it is really sad and telling that BF2 does not appear on the first page of featured games - it is their mobile game that does.
Playing it in a broken state and losing more hero characters from the already small roster just does not cut it anymore.
