Revive system concept Star Wars Battlefront 2
The idea of a medic class in Star Wars Battlefront 2 made me think of a revive system for this game. The revive system will make sense for both humans as droids, because droids can be revived by fixing parts and humans with bandages and medicines. I will explain my vision on this revive system and the benefits for EA and the game itself. My vision for this revive system is that when you would normally just die in battle there is now a possibility to revive that player in a certain amount of time. For example, when you get shot until you health bar reaches 0 you will fall on the ground (or another animation to indicate that someone can be revived) and have 10 seconds to wait on someone to help you (I made the 10 seconds up by stating that the 100hp revive health bar, that will appear ones you can be revived, will go down by 10hp every second you are revivable). The decrease in hp on the revive health bar will stop instantly when someone is reviving you. You may also choose to respawn instantly, if you know none of your teammates will be at you in time. You will be able to crawl on the ground to hide behind walls, so you can be safely revived. Teammates will also be able to drag you to safety. The reviving itself will take 8 or 10 seconds (adjust these seconds to fit with the gameplay). The player that lies on the ground has a secondary pistol to defend himself against enemies. During the drag animation, where a teammate takes two arms under the shoulders of the revivable player, the revivable player will be able to fire with his secondary pistol on enemies that are in front of him. Maybe a medic class is not necessary to put into the game to make this revive system work, because this would only obstruct the chances of having someone reviving you and you will have to rely on other people that have chosen the medic class. So do not put the medic class in the game, when putting this system in the game. And not to forget, when does someone get to the status wherein he/she can be revived, because being able to revive someone that just stood in a massive explosion would not make sense? My thoughts about this are that it is only possible to be revived when you get shot down or stand on a certain distance from an explosion (a distance that would not kill you instantly). When you get shot down it is simple, ones your health bar goes to 0hp your revive health bar will pop up on 100hp and go down with a certain amount of health every second. However when you get shot even more when you can be revived, then the revive health bar goes down with the damage that the weapon of the enemy deals. The situation wherein someone gets damaged by explosives is harder to explain. There will be a distance from the center of the explosion that will make it unable to be revivable after the explosion, because it would be unrealistic if you could be revived after standing this close to the explosion. So players will only be revivable when outside this radius from the center of the explosion. The area outside the previously explained radius and inside the blast radius of the explosion (so the radius wherein someone is damaged by the explosion), that will be the area that is involved with this revive system. Only the players that stood inside this area during the explosion and after the explosion had reached 0hp on their health bar will be revivable. I hope this explanation about the revive system will make my vision of this concept understandable for the developer team.
So what are the advantages for EA and the game itself when putting this system in the game. Firstly, players will play more together in the game instead of just running around killing enemies then respawn and do the same thing over and over again (what is happening now). When players have the opportunity to help each other in the game they will have the feeling of being part of something bigger. This feeling will influence the overall positivity about this game (this feeling really needs a boost). Also the players may invite friends to come over and recommend them to buy the game also, so they can play together. Secondly, playing the game will be more diverse with this system and players will spend more time playing the game and be more engaged. The engagement among players will also make them more likely to continue playing the game and maybe buying in-game credits. However this will only happen when this concept is executed the right way (so just like I explained the concept). I think with this advantages the goals that EA had while making this game are finally partly reached. There are lots of other concepts that need to be in the game to truely fulfill these goals, this is only one of them.

Thanks for sharing your suggestion @Julybil 🙂
It's definitely something that can be passed to our developers. Again, I cannot promise anything on my end 😳
