hey @rebuiltHK47 based on those ping you are doing to that IP something is not right between you and us. When you have issue can you do a UO tracer and send the data to me in a PM.
For the Uo-tracer: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/connection-troubleshooting-basic/ I do recommend that you follow the steps in there for network troubleshooting if you have not already.

Hey @rebuiltHK47 did you send it as a pm to me?

Hey @rebuiltHK47 Take look on your send message in private messages do you have anything there?

- 7 years agoI sent it earlier. If it can be changed that I'm connecting to that California IP, the problem is then solved. That is the problem part.
- 7 years agoTurns out the IP of 159.153.38.49 is geographically located in Europe. Why am I connecting to an IP in Europe?
I just lost ALL of my score data in one match due to lag, and then got booted from the match after for being idle The game is sending me to EUROPE before connecting to the U.S. server. I tried this on multiple cell phones using tether (meaning the IP for each was different), and I was sent to the same IP of 159.153.38.49 (gosprapp3171.ea.com) in EUROPE!
WHY AM I BEING SENT TO EUROPE?! - EA_Atic7 years ago

Hey @rebuiltHK47 for network routing is not something we can control that would be your ISP that or mobile provider. it would be them you have to ask to why you are being routing to Europe.

No no no. Don't go doing that. I am not going to be put in the middle of the "It's not us, it's them." battle. I already called them, they already said it's not under their control, and I already stated that I tested it with different connections and got the same result.
You do have direct influence on the route when the product has the wrong destination set. THAT is what my mobile provider told me. And that is EXACTLY how the internet works. 159.153.38.49 is NOT located in California. It is located in London, England. I would not be routed to Europe in the first place, if the game itself wasn't being sent to YOUR IP in England. This is a problem on YOUR end. YOUR product is sending me to YOUR IP in London. The route is not entirely controlled by you, but it IS affected when YOUR product is being sent to a certain destination. In this instance, the route is being sent to Europe because YOUR product's IP destination is in England. I am not the only one with this issue, as others with different connections around the world are having the same problem.
This reddit post clearly indicates by means of the posted video, as well as the posted comments, that there is a problem either with the game or Origin that is sending people to another country before being sent to their selected server. Some people in Europe are being sent to the U.S.
- 7 years agoI just got booted from a match again for being idle because I was lagging and lost my stats the other two matches because I was lagging so hard.
Isn't there a system that tells my computer/game what servers or IP addresses are closest so that it can have the best connection? - 7 years agoI'm starting to wonder if this is a leftover from having played the alpha and beta. if perhaps there is something in your system, or mine that didn't get cleared and it's sending me to the London IP of 159.153.38.49 instead of the U.S. Ohio IP.
Let's work to get this taken care of. Come on. - 7 years ago
I am still stuck being connected to the IP address of 159.153.38.49. This EA address is located in London England. I am in the United States. No it is not my ISP's fault. I already contacted them and they told me what I and anyone else with network knowledge knows. They don't control what IP the game connects to, the game does. That in turn determines what the route is. Add to that, I have used different connections, and have the same problem. There are also many others that have the same issue, and I know full well they aren't using the same connection as me. So that's two reasons I know for a FACT it's NOT my ISP. Something is wrong with the game. When I load up the game, it sends me to 159.153.38.49. It shouldn't do that. My connection stays that way the entire time. I never see it change, even when in a match. And it's the only IP in the list in Windows Resource Monitor when I'm playing a match. I'm sitting at 150+ms the whole time, 50% of that time I am lagged up so much I can't move. The game server selection says that the closest is in Virginia (use to be Ohio but that's suspiciously missing entirely) at 77ms. I shouldn't be rubberbanding and in a lag stun-lock if I had 77ms. Ever. Whatever part of the game that is determining the closest IP address is is not functioning right. I'm willing to work with someone to get this figured out, but I'm not going through the "it's not us it's them" bull *. That and the normal network troubleshooting has already been done many times over and it accomplishes nothing. I'm not technologically inept, so work with me here.
- 7 years agoplaying right now, and even discord's voice chat is being affected by the lag.
that very same thing happens when i play startrek online and only when startrek online is downloading something.
so not only am I being connected to an IP in the UK, but something is soaking up so much badnwidth that voice chat (Which takes up next to nothing) is severely impaired. - 7 years agoSo... I'm wondering, if I block the IP that the game initially when launched chooses to connect to, shouldn't it automatically find a different IP address to connect to?
- 7 years agoAt the very moment of this reply, I am using my satellite internet to connect to the game. As I stated before, my ISP is not the issue because I play over the cell network of AT&T through StraightTalk using 3G.
Both my satellite and phone tether send me to the same IP address of 159.153.38.49. That is located in London England.
So... there's something wrong somewhere with something in the game or Origin that is sending me to the incorrect IP address. - 7 years agoI was at a friend's house recently and used a solid internet connection. I still connected to the same IP. However I had no lag, or if I did, it wasn't noticeable.
I should still not be connecting to that IP address. I already know my connection type is not superb and that there will be some lag, but I should not have lag at over 120ms, and definitely as high as 12kms. - 7 years ago
so today I got on again at home, and my default ping side (the data center) that is closest is US Virginia at 80ms. I hopped into a match, was lagging so bad I couldn't move, and when I died, I couldn't spawn back in. I had to leave because everyone was jumping around and it wouldn't stop.
The game says the datacenter I have selected is in Virginia, but the game is connecting to a London England datacenter. I am having zero problems with all other games.
So is some help going to be given, or do I just keep posting and be ignored?
- 7 years agoI did contact the IP carrier, and the ISP that has peering with them to get the route corrected.
I hope it gets corrected, yet I fail to see how the route has any bearing on the game choosing the IP address in California when it does it regardless of the connection.
Different connections mean different routes. Yet the destination stays the same.
