Setting raw mouse input to 0 breaks mouse look, unplayable. Since game launch!

Here's a screenshot: https://gyazo.com/9f6f0dbeea3eec52796758e148fe58bc ..When you change it to 0 it breaks your mouse look as in it only moves in little twitchy micro steps..Completely broken.
What happens when the bug occurs? When you change it to 0 it breaks your mouse look as in it only moves in little twitchy micro steps.. You simply can't play at all, completely broken.
What do you expect to see? Like in any previous FrostBite engine game I expect fluid mouse look motion.

Turning Raw mouse input OFF still doesn't work over 4 months after game release and after EA acknowledged it was an issue
and that they were "working on it". WTF EA????? Something as basic as playing with raw mouse input turned off should not
take this long to fix ESPECIALLY when it has worked with every other frostbite engine game INCLUDING SW:BF1 and Battlefield 1.

Not sure what I mean? --In your config files you can change the value of raw mouse input from a 1 to a 0, just like any

Yes EA, we get it that you're more "console oriented" lately because that's where the money is but that's no excuse to have
a standard feature for PC gamers not work at launch and still not working 4 months later!!!! Seriously WTF!

So, to help you fix this let me give you as much info. This is NOT related to the Windows 10 creator's update raw mouse
issue as it does the same thing for me in my Windows 7 build and I use an older build of Windows 10 (1511). My GPU is a
1080ti FE EVGA, my CPU is the i7 5820K. I play in a surround 3 monitor setup like I always have never an issue
(3x1080p monitors in portrait mode, a resolution of 3240x1920)... But I've also tried playing on 1 monitor 1920x1080 and
the issue is still there. My motherboard is the Asus X99-A 3.1.

Many players prefer to play with raw mouse turned off, all for different reasons. In my case it's related to my preference
of inverting BOTH my Y and X axis when playing. But you don't have the invert X axis in the game settings, only Y axis.
So you could always add the invert X axis option and that would resolve the issue for me. Not a big deal to do this,
look no further than destiny 2. They allow to to invert both the Y AND X axis.

This is a whole lot of BS over something that would probably take 2 of your team members less than half a day to fix.
Over the months I've been assured by your reps that this was a known issue and that it would be fixed, yet here we are
over 4 months later and still no fix. Total BS.

I've been playing Battlefield + Battlefront games since 2004 and this was never an issue. You will lose a loyal and
valuable $$$ customer if this isn't resolved. For God's sake just fix the raw mouse input issue already or add the option
to invert the X axis along with the existing invert Y axis option.

Do your part EA, enough is enough.

  • @EA DICE

could you please add raw mouse input to Battlefront 2?

It really can't be that difficult since you are using the Frostbyte engine and raw mouse input is standard

in the Battlefield series. My muscle memory goes crazy with the wabbly controls of Battlefront 2

and I do not want to completely destroy it for one game.

At least explain to me why you didn't implement it.

  • As a PC player I found this report (/rant) very interesting.

I play with a 42"-TV (in the living room, the PC is only used for games and media)

I have a wireless keyboard (Logitec K400 Plus) which as a Touchpad as mouse.

The wireless keyboard just about alright for some games - but not Battlefront I or Battlefront II.

I use a Logitec F710 controller, with Pinnacle Game Profiler which is setup so the F710 is mimicking the default keyboard and mouse.

I persist with this setup as the game controller settings (X,Y) are reversed and can't be changed.  BFII tries to run the F710 like the standard Xbox controller but sensitivity is off the charts and unplayable. (and X,Y reversed)

Game play has always be frustrating on both BF to BFII targeting the main issue (with turning around being the next).  Always jerking left then right making targeting a very fiddly, slow process.

from the previous update until this September I noticed a big improvement in playability?

However since the last update (Sept) mouse control has been jerky and erratic.  The pointer jerking slowly along - with both the touch pad and the F710; but also varying hugely between different Starfighters and characters.  I then have to manually tweak Pinnacle Game Profiler sensitivity and/or Game sensitivity during game play!

I can confirm that changing the raw  Mouse off in BF1 has some benefit.  I've just racked up the highest kills I've ever had on BF1 Walker Assault!  (thanks)

I can confirm that changing the raw  Mouse off in BFII reduces the mouse response to a slow *. (even slower than the issues I had already noted.)

I think this scratches the surface of the problems PC players have.  We do not play on small screens with a wired mouse at desk!

Smooth aiming is impossible, trying to master it as a skill - impossible if updates affect mouse response!

I hope one day that the cross-hair with move smoothly instead of jerking from one pixel wide to the left; then one pixel wide to the right!  Misses don't count!

Please investigate this as a bug.

But please investigate and canvas PC players on how and where they play!

    thanks

    Slick
