Sidewinder Precision 2 not working in Battlefront 2 Starfighter Assault

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:PC
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug Joystick not working correctly
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? cjvader1138
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 12/19/2017
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM) 7:00 om
In what game mode did the bug occur? Starfighter Assault
What is your time zone? EST (IET) - GMT - 5:30
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go into any starfighter assault mode. Use flight joystick as controller
What happens when the bug occurs? I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick. Joystick worked perfect before the Last Jedi Update. Now when I try and put left or right movement on the stick it does a roll instead of yaw. When I pull back on the stick it changes the throttle instead of pitching up. Also the sensitivity is very low. It takes full stick deflection to get any response. I changed the sensitivity way up and it didn't change the joystick sensitivity in the game.
What do you expect to see? Expect left and right yaw with left and right stick input. Expect pitching up and down when pulling back or pushing forward on the stick.

  • having a similar issue with my MS Sidewinder gamepad, worked fine prior to patch, but now pushing UP on the controller makes my character walk backwards, pushing DOWN on the controller makes my character walk forwards, its completely backwards.. I use Joy2key to bind UP to W-key and DOWN binded to S-key.. in flight mode in the game, pushing up results in ACCELERATE(W-key) as it should be, and pushing DOWN(S-key) results in slowing down ship, as it should be according to the binds, but its backwards when controlling a character

So.... So long time ago, and nothing...

I play BF2 mainly on the Xbox usually, but I have it on the PC too, and I just tried again a Starfighter Assault on the PC, with the good old Sidewinder Precision 2.

It is still not working, while I am sure, that before when I first tried Starfighter Assault on the PC, it was working perfectly well (to be honest, I am not a fan of that mode, finding it too arcade, though I understand many are interested, and I am waiting for Squadrons).

Still back to the problem: this feature was working well before the aforementioned update. Even if EA is not giving updates, it is a matter of maintenance, not updates.

The Joystick, despite its age, works perfectly well in IL2, A10, etc. And of course it works very well with LucasArts's X-Wing Alliance, I don't see any reason on BF2, it couldn't.

    Thank you.
