Star Cards provide too much advantage

Those with little or no cards get match made with players of the same level .. well supposed to any way .
Ideas for fixing problems with gameplay created by the p2w and progression system are being colllected in one place by @ObiWanBonomias if they are scattered all over the forum they may not be seen by the right people. Please post constructive fix ideas though the thread linked below:

In war there are privates and there are generals.
But to be serious it is way too late to rehaul the system. And progression is a legitimate way to keep your player base engaged.
Honestly, it isn’t that hard to grind enough crafting points to set your favorite soldiers up the way you want. There are plenty of achievements that can be done in just a couple matches and there is the campaign and arcade mode that pays out fairly well.
If you want to set up all the heroes and all vehicles then yes you are going to have to grind, but if you can be content to be a grunt on the ground you can setup your character in just a handful of hours.
The battlefront series has ALWAYS been this way. The original is no exception.
If you don’t like the progression system you should find a different series to play rather than changing a series with a following to accommodate you"too late to rehaul the system" -I am not so sure @Peligrad . Not in terms of implementation, but it may annoy some people though. That sort of stuff tends to be defined in script files so design but no real recoding is required. I think all of that could easily be done with little effort.
The following video which I also posted somewhere obscure says that what seems to be a credible EA insider states that the preasure is really effecting EA and they are planning reworking the microtransaction system to be either only cosmetic based or cosmetic+cards but no gambling. So we may get most progression stuff earnt in game. The video is pretty long but you just need to watch from 24 mins 30 secs until 29 mins:
