star wars battlefront 2 2017 not recognizing pc controller

something strange has happened with the game and it stopped seeing the controller as controller any more it doesn't show the controller layout or give an option to play with it properly. any idea ...

  @khunaizi_ali Is the third party Bluetooth dongle or a Microsoft version that came with the controller and if you play with cabled does that work?
