Star wars battlefront 2 lagging

I've been playing this game on medium settings(auto) and i keep getting random lag spikes, my specs are
cpu: i5-7400
gpu: rtx 2060
ram: 8gb
I know these settings are above required but i still can't play at a constant 60fps. I also saw the "slow internet connection. this may affect gameplay" but i have 87 mbps download and 47 mbps upload.

Sometimes the lagging can be your ISP.  Also it can be the BF2 server.  Best thing to do is as follows:

    1. Shut Down computer, router and WiFi if connected.

    2. Make sure no one is streaming on your internet.

    3. Restart Router, then Wifi, and wait 20 secs , start computer.

    4. Start Game.

    5. Go to Options, EA Account, Multiplayer settings. and make sure default is set.

note: Some games you join to may be on a server in another country. If you see "Slow internet connection, you will know that the game you are playing was started on a foreign server. ) You can play on this one, or reload. The game will attempt to place you on a local server. If you join on someone in a game, you may join to their server......

    GLHF..

Note, I restart my inet-wifi and computer each time I begin a play session. It allows me the best connection possible by resetting anything else that was connected to the signal.

If I leave it for more than 20 mins, I restart the game.

  • Try close all redundant apps in the background. BF2 should not lag on a RTX 2060 imo

BF2 servers are somewhat stingy, try connecting to default server. I’ll guess you are using wired connection

  • I found a fix that seemed to work after struggling weeks to resolve slow internet making the game unplayable.

1 first shutdown any background apps and programs

2 most importantly, turn all location services off for any app or background program you find and dont need!!! This game the best results afterward. My internet speed test went from 800 to over 970 at some point.

hope this helps, it worked for me
