Star Wars Battlefront 2 wont start

Recently I started playing Battlefront 2 again.
I noticed that Origin no longer exists, and it has been replaced by the EA app.
So I launched Battlefront 2, however it wont start, I reinstalled it already.
Is there any way I can fix this?

I have battlefront 2 on steam.
I use windows 10. 
I have tried most things I found on google, but nothing worked.

    I fixed the issue finally!

    If you used frosty mod manager before, this fix will work for you.
    You need to type in "environment variables" (without quotes) in your windows search bar.
    After that you delete the variable "GAME_DATA_DIR".
    Press "OK" after deleting it, then restart your pc.

    After that start battlefront 2 and it should be fixed!
    Have fun, I hope to see you ingame sometime!

    I've tried another bunch of things, nothing worked, I would like to see a fix for this very soon.
    The best option would probably be to remove the stupid EA app, it only causes trouble.

    I have the same issue and tried multiple ways found on the forus and web, but nothing worked.Please get it fixed, or refund the money

    I purchased the game directly from EA on PC, and since being upgraded to EA App, SWBF2 would fail to launch.

    Today my cousin, who is a PC engineer, worked out where the problem is. We opened the EA App on my PC using a different local Windows User Account, and then tried starting SWBF2, and it launched and ran with no problems at all. When we switched back to my Windows User Account, the non-launch problem persisted, and still is at time of printing.

    As such it would appear that the non--launch issue is caused by corruption somewhere in the Windows User Profile files. We could not work out where, but at least it narrows down the problem.

    I haven't got "GAME_DATA_DIR", is just me that i haven't found it? please if anybody knows i cannot play since 2 months ago.
