Haha, I'm more worried about the Palpatine "fixes". We all know how those tend to go down. :D
Yeah, i'm just worried in general to be honest.
Being able to play multiplayer consistently is my top priority but that'll be useless if it gets fixed but then all the other fixes bring new or previous game breakers into the fold.
I probably spend as much time on this forum as I do playing the game so if all doesn't go swimmingly after tomorrow then that's it... i'm done with both.
Can't go on with the high levels of anxiety and frustration caused by this product and its endless flaws, even if it is Star Wars.
Plus there's plenty of other ways to waste my time, but I won't waste £70 on another game in a hurry though that's for sure.
Fingers crossed.

That's a good point.
Even if the ping site will be saved correctly, many people will face the matchmaking problem perhaps.😞
In these days, I have heard some cool guys found that the SWBF2 population is not so low (PC version).
It is a GOOD NEWS! The bad news is, yeah, we can hardly find a match in most areas.

@SnowmanHD has expressed exactly what I thought reading this last night. All good if I can connect to a game on the UK ping. If all it does is default me to a ping site that gets me empty lobbies or error 1066 wtf would be the point of fixing the ping site issue. I just hold out hope that @EA_Ataashi's response from; https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-Information/Community-Transmission-Elite-Corps-Update/m-p/6998302#M7010, is accurate. I asked the specific question of will there be a fix for the ping site/error 1066/empty lobbies to which the response was yes as per the thread, therefore let's just hope that whatever they've done, it gets fixed.
@felker_s I'm not sure worry should be the overwhelming emotion here, it's more exasperation(for me at least). I see from these forums that there is a strong die hard StarWars community getting more and more disheartened. @SnowmanHD is probably more passionate than me about this game and considering calling it quits. It's ridiculous everytime something gets fixed they break something else or its not really fixed and something else gets broken. I'm not sure how many would agree, but in my opinion the time this game worked best was back last November when it was released. Ever since its been up and down with every update but never back at that level and that's quite a statement considering how buggy it was at release. I see the multitude of posts by yourself in regards to the many many issues in this game and can't help but feel it's an exercise in futility and have to commend your patience in trying to help EA fix the problems. The fact it's a worry to you tells me that you may well stick at it until they get it right. Keep telling them bud if this game has a future its thanks to people like you. I personally don't even have the patience to bring me to this point and ranting on here is the only reason I've still not given up, if this sh*t carries on past the Clone Wars update I'm going the way of the snowman.

@Tinogiggedy
I'm generally a patient person, but there's hard evidence on these forums of the times when even I lost my temper, lol. My posts from like a week before are full of salt, I even had a separate topic where I called them out on the roadmap being bs (in my defense, they waited until the very end of August to even mention the August update).Basically I just refuse to give up on this game until they admit that it is dead. I like playing it, I'm actually quite good at it, and I've spent way too much time with it - and way too much money on it, since I've bought it full price at launch.
But don't get me wrong - it never even crossed my mind to buy their next SW game, or any upcoming EA game. What they've done - and still doing - with Battlefront 2 is simply a full-on betrayal of their customers' trust. Coming up on stage at E3 after the ridiculous Han Solo update for some CW news, sure... But if you take a look at the upcoming content, it's basically nothing. In 5-6 months' time, we are supposed to get four characters and one map. One. New. Map. This is an update pack which should cover like one month, releasing it on the 1-year anniversary of BFII as the "We Apologise Patch".
I don't care about the new squad system, that's no excuse - it should have been included in a multiplayer game already. And also the trooper & hero appearances - the underwhelming amount of those is nonsense, since it would be also in their best interest to push a lot of appearance packs out.

Hey pat on the back @SnowmanHD when you're right your right mate. EA so well done and congratulations the issue of ping site changing itself is solved but error 1066 and empty lobbies continues. On the way home from work today I thought I'm sure EA won't let me down again. I'll get home download the update get some new content and happily play the game. Hey 🖕to you too.

@Tinogiggedy @SnowmanHD @felker_s - Looks like the update definitely fixed the ping site issue - I am now able to again use and maintain the Aust Site and not have the slow internet connection dialogue in the top r/h corner. I did have a scare the first time I searched for a game after the update when it took ages to find a game then put me in a near empty lobby. Fortunately, after a few seconds that lobby started to fill so I guess people were completing their update at the time I joined.
The jury is still out on the ion torpedo nerf but playing on Tatooine last night, it seems that the AT-ST is harder to kill unless you can get him from the rear (3 torpedos won't take him out from the front unless prior damage has occurred). My opinion is that they may have got the nerf right but I haven't used them against starfighters yet.

To - @EA_Ataashi @EA_Atic (and anyone else at EA monitoring these forums).
Well...
I did the same as @Tinogiggedy yesterday, downloaded the update, went on my merry way to work and thought lets see if the server issue is still there when you get home...
Got back about 10.30pm and switched my Xbox on straight away in anticipation.
And low and behold other than some admittedly nice visual updates and the fact that the ping site now stays on UK (as it should/did in the past) then I have to say my fears and predictions have been confirmed and not one iota of difference has been made to the consistency of multiplayer matchmaking or the ability of the servers to do their job.
I STILL cannot get into lobbies, when I do they are empty, I did manage to get in GA and SA last night but only when I switched my ping back to Ireland from it's now UK default, which totally defeats the object, and it was still hit and miss to get a match anyway!
The whole thing just smacks of incompetence and a lack of quality control.
I am my wits end now and am seriously one post away from quitting this forum altogether unless you can provide me and everyone else with some answers! I mean what is the point in coming here day after day if our efforts to get resolutions and improve the gaming experience for ourselves and others is completely in vain? This forum does not help people in my opinion anymore (if it ever did), it is just delivering false promises of imaginary fixes in an effort to shut people like myself up. People who rightly stand up for themselves when as a consumer/customer their expectations are not fulfilled.
If that was the objective or hidden agenda then well done... you have succeeded.
Before I do give up for good I will ask one final time for some answers in some kind of last gasp attempt to get you to restore some of the faith I used to have.
So...
- Is it the UK ping site that has a fault over others or are people in other regions still experiencing this server issue?
- Are you aware that this has not been fixed, and if so what is the official word on it?
- WHY is this still an issue? (Surely this update/fix should have been thoroughly tested before release?)
- WHEN will this be resolved properly?
I see on Twitter everyone is now saying things to EA and Ben Walke like "well done", "great job", "ignore the toxic community" etc, etc.
For what? Have these people got amnesia? Are these suck ups serious? Why shouldn't we be a bit toxic when we don't get what we're promised or paid for? This game is plagued with problems and has been since day one, and now all we get is few and extremely far between updates with a couple of new skins and no new maps/modes/characters for months!? Oh, and a roadmap that says "winter" comes after November!? FYI it pretty much already is winter now here in the UK. Anyway, I digress...
Please respond, and not with the usual "have you tried switching it off and back on again" or "we'll pass this on to the devs" rubbish that is so often the scripted response in these situations! I'm smarter than that. And so are the majority of people. We deserve the truth. And results!
