The PC I was using was a Windows 7 64 bit OS
yeah, i can't play not good enough vid card ☹️ nvidia 840M

I found this;
OPTION 1
Go to Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
Select "Turn Windows features on or off".
Under "Media Features" turn on (tick) Windows Media Player. Press OK.
OPTION 2
Instruction list from Microsoft regarding mpflatt.dll error messages (*for vista, but may work for 7).
OPTION 3
Why you may have mpflat.dll errors and instructions for fixing.
*BELOW - There is NO need to download anything from this site, where referenced - visit manufacturer site for downloads
