@VetteC5RX 100% agreed...There's more than what meets the eye. These inexperienced developers are also worried about social justice and representation to the point they are willing to ruin a storyline just for that. More over the lack of experience to make a fair and balanced FPS game. I even wonder if this is either Disney's or Lucasfilm's fault to make these terrible game changes that will most likely backfire down the road due to improper or lack of QA testing.
This tells me that DICE developers do not play the games they create, and listen to wrong people when applying changes instead of making a poll asking such questions. For example, Discord or Reddit shouldn't be calling the shots from when or where a game needs patching or not. It should be the official forums here instead. Another example of Battlefront 2's issues that could had been corrected in time was not adding Anakin as a playable hero for OT, or ST, the 4 ability debacle which made the character more broken than anything...Couple this with the map design and you'll have an inbalanced mess.
Leia did not needed thermal detonators, a rapid fire E-11, and a sniping power shot ability. This character decimates enemy heroes in seconds. Next, we move on to the unnecessary changes to Yoda, Luke, and Han. First of all, Yoda did not needed a second block ability. The character is too little and can easily slither away which is more than enough. Luke Skywalker never tires and all his abilities are OHK, in fact nearly all lightside hero abilities are OHK which is another terrible inbalance. Was doing some other testing of weapons damage with rebels and resistance having a near 40% chance estimated to land a killing shot that will take off 100% of your health in one sitting with all their classes, unlike Empire or First Order, which is probably less than 10% chance to land a killer blow unless you use the slug vanguard or NT-42 rifle.
Turn radius for TIE's is less when compared to X-wings and Y-wings which is wrong. TIE's should have the fastest turn radius due to the design of their flight control surfaces. That is another disadvantage the benefits one faction of over the other, thus making control of the skies useless for Imperials and FO.
Moving on to the ion turrets and their inbalance problem. I was playing a match of Crait as the FO and the enemy started planting turrets that were tracking targets above a 90° angle arch above such turrets which is wrong. Couple this with a heavy also carrying ion rockets and you'll have a bad day as either Imperial or FO. Yet another broken loadout which should had not allowed both the turret and the ion launcher at the same time. Again, another loadout that was never tested or balanced around. There is no limit on how many soldiers can carry it so effectively halting your mechanized assault in one sitting which is wrong because vehicles should have the advantage over infantry.
Small arms fire should had never worked against AT-ST's. In the lore the light armor of the AT-ST could only be breached by missiles, rockets, or heavy repeating weapons like an E-web blaster. AT-ST-s are probably the most vulnerable vehicles in this game because of the bad hitbox design, horrendous map and obstacles like hills, rocks, underbrush, vines, and small trees.
I can type for days the numerous issues with Battlefront 2 at this point. I hope developers are taking notes from this so they don't keep making the same mistakes over and over in future AAA titles.
