I would guess that, if anyone took them to court over the matter. They'll just pay the fines till metrics say it's not worth it and they shut the whole game down. That's the quick easy way and lets be serious, EA always looks for the most garbage, easy way out of everything. They wonder why they have a hateful user base. lol
Well maybe the hackers can make it so bad, across all their games, that not 1 person can play them. Maybe, when their business is spiraling, then they'll think about doing actual work. Hope those hackers either decide to leave everyone alone or burn EA to the ground. Nowadays, there's no in-between, to force someone to do something for the right reason is utterly impossible. Accountants say where to spend money and they always go with the short, sweet, inexpensive options. The accountants don't care about the long term, they care about the profits of today, leaving the speculation of tomorrow at bay.
May this be the glaring mistake, EA thought they could afford to not fix.
