starwars battlefront 2 won't launch from steamn

i installed starwars battlefront 2 on steam a while ago and tried to play it now, when i try and launch the game, steam stops responding, the game opens with a black screen and origin opens and claim...

@rhubarbdedubarb Right-Click on the game > properties > local files > Verify Integrity of Game Files...

Then wait, when it’s done a prompt shows that some files failed to verify and must be redownloaded.
