SWBF 2: Can i upgrade from standard to elite trooper without paying double?

Hi, i bought star wars battlefront 2 standard edition earlier this month and i regret buying it and now want the elite trooper edition for extra early access. I have been looking at how to request a refund but it does not seem to be possible since i already played the game by playing the trial version for 10 hours. and its been more than 7 days since i bought the game at first. So my question is: if i buy the elite trooper edition now while still having the standard edition will my standard version get refunded or will i just pay the double amount of money? Every bit of help will be much appreciated.

The upgrade will be made available after the game launches. If you what to have it now, cancel your pre order and then pre order the Deluxe Edition. You wont lose any bonuses if you do it now however.

You can also cancel your pre order now despite playing the trial as the trial and full game are not connected in anyway and pre orders can be refunded before the game launches at anytime.

  • Looking at the Origin Store I see there's an upgrade option for the original Battlefront, but not for BF2 (Which I'm sure you figured out already).

I'm assuming that there will be an upgrade option after launch. EA would be crazy not to offer an option that gets them more cash 😉

Either way, you gave me an idea, so if you'd like, have a quick look here.

If i do cancel my standard edition now and pre order the deluxe edition instead, will i lose the progress i have made in the trial? And will i keep all the pre order bonuses i got for pre ordering the standard edition early?

I'm curious, why you want to do that at all? Basically, with deluxe edition you can't get anything more then from standard edition, just speed-up progress of acquiring some cards (and 3 days head start) and that is all. Is it not more fun to earn them in game, by playing the game? With deluxe edition you will have some better start position comparing to standard edition players, yea but, is that what you really want? Why? For me, challenge is to earn all that what you can buy with deluxe , and because of that, deluxe was never option to me. Standard is all I want, all I need and all what every true SW player should buy. Deluxe is more for spoiled kids i would say. I see no reason for anyone to cancel standard edition and go for deluxe.
