The game freezes randomly for 0.5-2 second and then back to normal

I have enjoyed the game so much but when I start the game and after like 30 min it starts freezing for 0.5-2 seconds and then back to normal with 60 fps randomly.

Is this a graphic problem that will be fixed later but if it is not how can I fix this? I have already updated my drivers and basicly everything in my computer so should I clean my computer or is there anything else that could help? Because I could run SWBF2015 with no freezing randomly and on High graphics with 60 fps. I have also tried to lower my graphics from medium to low but that doesnt help.

Here is some of my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 3,30 ghz

Graphic Card: AMD R9 200 series 2gb

RAM: 8gb

That sounds more like a hard drive access issue. Are you using an SSD? If not, have you defragmented your hard drive lately?

I'm having the same exact issue as the OP.  Every few minutes the game freezes for a few seconds,  all sound stops, then it catches back up and (usually) I'm dead because I was in the middle of a firefight.

I've updated my graphics drivers, set the origin/BF2 launchers to run as admin.  I've tried reducing all settings to low (graphics) and it still freezes so I don't think it's related to a graphics card driver or in-game setting.

Also, I do have an SSD that the game is installed on.  I don't know if this makes a difference but I have origin originally installed on my C Drive, but I have the game installed on a secondary SSD (different drive).

I'd love a fix for this because it wasn't happening up until a few days ago.  It did happen during the beta, but then on the first few days (pre order access) it didn't appear to happen.

  • Im having similar problem. The game worked fine during beta and the first week of release. The past couple days I have been getting constant stutterstepping and lag. not sure why. all my friends have it to

Sovietsupport,  I don't believe me or the OP are referring to stepstutter or lag.  Those are different symptoms.

Stepstutter is where you are running or doing something, and it stutters instantly making you "rubberband".

Lag is where you are moving around and still hearing the sound/music but you have a delay on your abilities having an effect to when a key is pressed (usually a network connectivity problem).

The game randomly freezing is where you literally freeze.  You CANNOT move or click or interact with ANYTHING.  Sound even stops while "frozen",  in this instance the game/sound resumes and catches up.  This can technically be also called "lag" but because of the inability to interact/move it's a step above and is colloquially being called "frozen".

Hope this helps with delineating the problems from one another.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Fresh image Windows 10 SSD.

  • It's not just a PC issue. Me and a few of my friends on ps4 are having the exact same problem.
